ok, i will try doing that. but if yellow spark/short jump comes out then what does it indicate.....weak ignition coil?

That's good ! Nothing feels as good as a direct fitOriginally posted by sachin1111 View Postyes, bajaj is not providing any rubber boots with the plug cap...but rubber boots of Honda cap are fitting perfectly on Pulser's cap...so i am using the original rubber boots. end diameters of honda and pulser caps are same therefore rubber boots seems to match ..
.
Actually the contact on the pulsar cap is stainless and is clean and shiny after ten years on my best friend's wind-125 ( which has the same cap ) . The brass contacts on the honda & hero tends to develop the green tarnish . My OE hero-honda cap was mild steel and rusted inside out ( check the pic I have posted of it ) .Originally posted by sachin1111 View Post... By the way the the material used for the two contact points on Honda and Pulser cap is different. on Pulser cap...it is normal silver/steel color and Honda cap have golden yellow i.e brass color...which probably will not corrode easily ..
If the resistance measures out at 4kΩ or nearby , it should work fine . Maybe the fit had become loose or it was retaining water inside it - difficult to guessOriginally posted by sachin1111 View Post.. I did not see any sign of corrosion on my old Honda caps and resistance was within 5k Ohms...so what could be the reason for failure
. i guess a high temperature at spark plug end or loose fitting coupled with engine vibration could be the cause .
.
You can check the strength of the ignition current itself at the sparking end by removing the plug cap at all and holding the bare wire end about an inch from the bike's frame somewhere . Then turn on the ignition key and kick the engine . A spark would jump the gap between the bare wire end and the bike's frame(ground) - blue spark that jumps an inch is good to go , yellow spark or short jump is no good . Be careful to wear rubber soled shoes ( be ungrounded ) and place your hand far from the bare ignition wire end while you try this .Last edited by Pinaki; 09-08-2013, 01:24 PM.

.i did about 25km yesterday with new cap on....but did not see any difference while riding...it feels the same like stock honda cap. lets see how long this lasts.Last edited by sachin1111; 09-08-2013, 11:43 AM.

Re: The Honda CB Twister
The quality of this plug cap from bajaj is very good and it's quite cheap too . However it does not come with the small rubber boots that fits at either open ends of the plug-cap . You have to buy those seperately ( comes as a bajaj pack too ) or maybe your original plug's rubber boots would fit . Keep us posted about how it works

Re: The Honda CB Twister
correction, not HT.....its "HET"....which means Honda eco technology....its a improved engine that reduces frictional losses. This is 2013 model claims 74kmpl. to identify search for "HET" logo/sticker somewhere on bike. see these links below.

Thankx for the help guys.Originally posted by sachin1111 View Posttake a test drive of both bikes and decide. DY has a new "HT" model which honda claims gives better mileage(72kmpl) compared to previous model which was claiming 70kmpl....same as Twister.
Took test ride of the dream yuga and twister today, I must say the DY engine felt is a bit more free revving than the twister, maybe because of the lesser torque, dunno exactly.
So i've decided to go for the DY, because of more comfy seats and softer ride, the bike did pull quite cleanly too. Plus i dunno why, but even apart from the chain thing, i feel the DY will be easier to maintain.
I was shown a new really dark grey color of the dream yuga today. They said it was a new color. Looked really nice.
Sachin, whats this HT dream yuga? How to identify it??

Twister & DY are not exactly the same.Twister is more torquish than DY.But DY is more comfy & easier maintained.

Heya! Thankx for the replies. I'll decide between dream yuga and twister then. Any suggestions?Originally posted by sachin1111 View PostZafar, this spark plug cap is a miner issue....once you replace the cap this problem will not crop up for atleast next one and half years(with stock Honda cap). Honda's after sales service is quite bad at most places...in fact in my case during servicing they even changed my brand new spark plug along with plug cap with somebody's old used one....i hate such practices and simply do not trust them anymore.Regarding mileage, it mostly depends on your riding habits. Twister has best pickup in its classs......due to this rider is always tempted to ride faster....along with this our ever increasing city traffic is taking toll on mileage. check this article below....Dream yuga and Twister share same engine hence same mileage.

I wanted a twister for a long time because its a honda , so i was assuming the built quality was the best.
But i've been tracking the thread for quite some time and seen a lot of you guys struggling with the spark plug and mileage issues.
Is it a permanent con of the bike or is it a new issue?
I am basically of the lookout for a 100-110 cc bike with only 2 things in mind in the following order,
1. built quality/reliability.
2. fuel economy.
Please help me decide guys which bike should i go for. A few thousand here or there don't matter nor does a few kmpl here and there. but i don't want to spend time every sunday getting a bike repaired. i want a bullet proof 100cc bike which will give me least issues when ridden well and serviced time to time.
Thanks
zafar

Re: The Honda CB Twister
Honda is the best but its local service is most probably the worst. These days it is impossible to own a 'bulletproof' bike due to the terrain & traffic conditions. So it would be better to prefer a brand which offers a reliable 'AFTER SALES SERVICE' & cheap spares.I think Hero is better in this aspect.Last edited by smartrider; 09-03-2013, 12:07 AM.

[QUOTE=mrbabu76;985680]Before getting this color i was running it a little more leaner and did get a white colour plug ( dont have picture though) but the mileage didnt increase at allOriginally posted by dream_victor View PostE]
Hi Victor,
If you want to get Sibun's red-brown colour in your DY, you will end up with rich mixture as you are running now(less FE). These honda lean burn engines are designed to run lean(plug white in colour) to get high FE. So you take your bike to your nearest better A.S.C and ask them to tune as per factory norm.
There was another issue i faced yesterday, I had taken the sparkplug out to take picture and had replaced it back and left it for a day and when trying to start the bike in evening it didnt start and when i tried the kick it was going smoothly as if there was no pressure ( I think its called compression loss), I removed the sparkplug and rechecked that it was correctly turned and still it didnt improve the kick and bike didnt start
i then took it to a nearby mechanic and he just held the self start for about a minute without checking anything and the bike started and then the kicker was back to normal pressure
After this incident the bike is running fine and i stopped and started multiple times and didnt see this issue again, Im now wondering what had happened
Have you guys seen this kind of issue ? Is there something wrong with bike that needs to be checked for ?

I ride without choke on and dont really face starting issues, however sometimes in morning i have to use choke to start ( not frequently though)

[QUOTE=dream_victor;984925]Thanks Sachin,
Twister with 35kmpl seems too low, Is there no fix for that low mileage ?
Here is the picture of the sparkplug, I feel it looks better than earlier but still not close to what Sibun showed with red-brown colour
