The Honda CB Twister
Hey friends, I am planning to sell my fz and get a 100 cc bike. I wanted a twister for a long time because its a honda , so i was assuming the built quality was the best.
But i've been tracking the thread for quite some time and seen a lot of you guys struggling with the spark plug and mileage issues.
Is it a permanent con of the bike or is it a new issue?
I am basically of the lookout for a 100-110 cc bike with only 2 things in mind in the following order,
1. built quality/reliability.
2. fuel economy.
Please help me decide guys which bike should i go for. A few thousand here or there don't matter nor does a few kmpl here and there. but i don't want to spend time every sunday getting a bike repaired. i want a bullet proof 100cc bike which will give me least issues when ridden well and serviced time to time.

its difficult to pin to pin point exact problem...unless mechanic physically checks all mechanical. ask mechanic to inspect swingarm bushings which may have gone bad. also check wheel alignment. watch this you tube video between first 20-30 seconds...it indicated what happens when swingarm bushes have gone bad. I'm having certain problems with my bike.Ride has become rough with noticeable vibrations & also there is a drag to the left which started after I had ridden over a gutter.I think the rubbish roads out here are responsible for all these troubles.I don't hope the svc guys would solve my problems.Infact they won't even be able to find the cause of them.So please help me with all possible solutions.Anyone....Leave a comment:

Twister with 35kmpl seems too low, Is there no fix for that low mileage ?
Here is the picture of the sparkplug, I feel it looks better than earlier but still not close to what Sibun showed with red-brown colour
and here is the carb setting right now, the mark was for what was set by the mechanic earlier but I made it a little more leaner to fix the black smoke problem

Position of Air screw will change slightly depending on condition of Air filter. observe Air screw position of some brand new bikes kept at showroom...their Air filter will be clean...so with your used filter... make it slightly more leaner( by turning it anticlockwise....about 10-20 degrees in my opinion) by listening to sound where you get fastest engine beat (i.e highest RPM) and then adjust the idle screw to get lowest stable RPM. dont keep high hopes just because friends unicorn is giving good mileage. quick update on my bike, the mileage seems really erratic now
Im getting anywhere between 37-43 kmpl
recently i exchanged my bike for a week with my cousin who rides a Unicorn, He consistently gets around 50-55kmpl on 80% highway drive
I got a mileage of ~50kmpl on Unicorn and he got a mileage of 48-49kmpl on my DY
So it definitely looks like there is some problem
Im wondering if the mileage in DY is lower thank Unicorn because DY has only 4 gears and Uni 5 gears so when i drive at ~60kmph ( ~50% of my ride) Uni is more relaxed
I also removed my AFR screw completely to confirm if its a Air or Fuel screw and like Sibun said its a Air screw ( flat end screw)
When the screw was in | position i saw that the tip of sparkplug is black and when its -- (anticlockwise to make it lean) the plug end is white So Im guessing that the right setting is \ please confirm, Im running it with this setting but the mileage hasnt improved, I will check the plug color tomorrowLeave a comment:

spark plug cap may not be responsible for sluggish operation. check for clutch free play, fill up the tyre pressure to maximum recommended pressure and lubricate the chain. also check your underseat storage space area if thngs like document papers obstructing the air suction pipe.Originally posted by smartrider View PostLast edited by sachin1111; 08-25-2013, 12:35 AM.Leave a comment:

not sure if any compatible case available......but Dream yuga or Dream Neo case might fit after some modifications. These days,my ride's throttle response is sluggish.It seems as if the engine is struggling.Recently I replaced the spark plug cap with swiss cap for pulsar.After that,engine sound increased & throttle response got better but now the problems came back.
