  • ^^hehe , first I thought that it is a childhood pic, probably the result of watching below documentary yesterday...it was nice...

Guys, there is a new Motogp Documentary "Route to Glory" - this is available on torrent - 500 something size....

Source: MotoGP: The Route to Glory DVD - Sportbike Media Peek - Motorcycle USA
As I posted on motomatters too. I guess it is because of too much of movement around him (Rossi to Ducati, Stoner to Honda) that companies don't see Lorenzo (or speez for that matter) as a sure shot dominator as he was in 2010...
maybe...still nobody in their right mind would write off lorenzo/spies and yamaha yet....they have the best overall bike.....and lorenzo knows the biek well unlike rossi and stoner(disclaimer-am not a lorenzo fan).....and sponsoring spies means a lot of US exposure too....

+1... there is also the factor of the Spanish economy in deep trouble... its companies (except maybe Repsol) are in no position to make the type of investment required... as for Spies... which American company other than Pepsi (HP to some extent) and the cigarette giants have ever been the primary sponsor's of a Moto GP team????

Yamaha did introduce the GTS1000 about 4 years later...

Agreed. But they came after the GTS1000 and they are semi production models and not full fledged ones. The funny thing was that while Honda owns the patents to the elf Honda design, but for some reason they did not bring it to production. Yamaha however came out with the GTS1000 about 4 years later, when I suspect the patent exclusivity lapsed (4 years of Honda + 2 years of elf Honda patent exclusivity).

What's the point in warming up on saturday for a sunday's race?? There are so many things that could change in a day which would seriously affect the setup of the bike. When such a thing does happen, the 125 and moto2 riders must start their race on a bike setup based on predictions and assumptions. Crazy organizers.

hmm...didn't remember the GTS1000..., vyrus and tesi both can be bought-still would they be called semi-production??.....

patent exclusivity lapses in just 4 years??..thats a very small period i.e. if somebody made a good innovation then he should have a right to it for a longer period..IMHO of course

Patent exclusivity: is 7 years... Elf Honda: 3 years + Honda 4 years... out of which the Elf Honda raced for 2 years...

When I say semi production... they are made in limited numbers i.e. hundreds. The GTS1000 was a production based bike that you could walk into a dealership and buy like any jap superbike...
