no one says he's flawless. he's got his work cut out for himself this season.
prolly having a lot of sleepless nights too.

    everyone knows...
he jumped off an RC211V which was the best bike in MotoGP at that time...
and then took a crap M1 and made it work for him... from the very first race.

with the Duc... it's just taking him longer than it did with the M1.

but i do know this... i'm sure he knows what he's doing.
it's only time before he does an M1 on the Ducati.

his feedback is considered to be the best rider feedback out there.
and he's only getting better on the GP11... race by race.

3 or 4 races more... and VR|46 will be all set.

P.S: my post might seem baised towards Rossi... coz i'm a Rossi fan.

P.P.S: if there's someone who i'd like to see do better this season it's Spies.
i was hoping he'd work his magic this season.

        • Well spies has been the biggest disappointment of the season so far. Even hayden has shown a lot of promise, but has been unable to convert it into any decent results.

Simmer down. It's only four races into the season. No reason to overreact.

His two least favorite tracks are behind him now. Two DNFs in a row sucks, but lots of riders, including Spies, have successful seasons with two or more DNFs. Remember, he was comfortably in 2nd place when he had his first DNF in the rain. His second DNF was largely out of his control. He did beat Hayden straight up this week. He started 8th and finished 6th. He finally got a fairly decent start. No reason to panic just yet. Yamaha has promised more speed parts are coming for the team. Me? I'm not worried yet.

Check out his stats, the stats put him at a place better than he was last year.

Agree he is on a factory ride and the expectations are much, but that Honda is ridiculously fast, so fast that even Dovi is beating VR. It isn't funny and not very nice for Yamaha Racing Squad. Lolly is admitting that podiums & not wins is what he is aiming at this season.

              • Talking about disappointment I was super disappointed with Marquez's showing in moto2 until the last race.
I was so pleased that he not even completed the race but had won it.

As far as Spies is concerned, sometimes things go wrong which are beyond one's control. He will get his act back I am sure with his cool and calm approach...

One more disappointment is RdP poor guy he was such an impression on the LCR Honda last year.

A few days back I read this comment made by a girl on facebook fan page..'Both ,Hayden and Spies look like real porn-stars'

So,you see, this might be the reason for their bad performances this year .
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

ha ha ha. Well if women consider them porn stars then its cool. Even if they quit moto gp they will still have a budding alternate career
but for me the best part of the race was that rossi comprehensively defeated lorenzo. Ducati is faster than yamaha! Even though it was lorenzo's second bike. That made my day

                    • oh that was a good moment in the race when Lorenzo ran wide.

                      that crash definitely unsettled Lorenzo.
he crashed after so long. must have been an almost alien feeling.

Balance 101: Ok. Try and stay with me. I'm going 2 call the bike a triangle. The top of the triangle is the center of gravity (COG) of the bike. So somwhere around where the riders knee is. The bottom corners of the triangle are the front tire contact patch & the rear contact patch. Now let's say the COG at the top of the triangle is in the middle, this means the front & rear wheel has equal weight when the bike is stationary. Now if u want 2 place more weight on the rear then u need 2 move the rear contact patch towards the front & more under the COG. U can do this a few ways. Cont
By using a shorter swing arm, by taking a link out of the chain or by changing the gearbox so the rear sprocket is bigger. But there are other ways of putting more weight on the rear. Buy moving the front wheel contact patch forward by changing the adjustable front geometry. So picture the triangle now. Either way gives u more of the available weight on the rear tire. All this in reverse will put weight on the front tire. Are u still with me? ......hello....are u there........
U can also move the rider forward or reward but this is somthing that once u get him comfortable their is not much point stuffing with it. Now one thing I haven't told u about is when the bike is under acceleration or braking. Things start getting interesting with regard 2 weight balance. I might leave that 4 another night. (Depends how this goes over!).

Rossi Testing Ducati GP12 At Mugello, Alongside New Ducati Superbike | MotoMatters.com | Kropotkin Thinks

"The focus of Ducati's development work would seem to suggest that the best they can hope for in 2011 is a couple of wins, while the goal of 2012 will be to aim for the championship."

Now this statement in the artical doesn't sound too exciting

                          Though they still say:
"However, the pressure inside Italy on the Italian dream team of Valentino Rossi and Ducati to win has meant that the factory has been forced to invest heavily in 2011 as well."
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

@R-Series: I guess that was the original plan and thought process behind Ducati hiring Rossi i.e. to make a competitive bike for 2012 and beyond. Efforts on GP11 is just the consequence of fans' anticipation...

He's not walking around the paddock like he's the king. He does the best he can on the track every day and I have a lot of respect for him."
