If VR's bike gets up & running, I see the championship fight between VR, Hayden, J Lo, Spies, Stoner and well, that is it.
the way honda is dominating right now...it seems difficult that situation would be any different from this year..., lorenzo & stoner are going to be up there..., spies & pedrosa have a shot at it as well...,
still seems difficult for VR & hayden...somehow I don't see ducati being a championship contender..maybe few wins & podiums...,
oh & expect some podiums (maybe wins) from bautista if he is given the factory honda at gresini....

about Honda's dominance from motomatters...nakamoto sounds cocky...

The results sheet showed one thing all too clearly: the Hondas are on a different planet, Dani Pedrosa being a tenth faster than his teammate Casey Stoner, but the gap back to Ben Spies in 3rd is enormous. Spies was over a second slower than Pedrosa, and nine tenths off Stoner, and at the head of a group of eight riders separated by just over a second. When I asked one Honda insider about the Honda tests in Jerez at the start of the year, they used the word "insane" to describe the performance. At Valencia, we got a taste of what that meant.

The irony was that at the end of the day, I spoke to HRC Vice President Shuhei Nakamoto, and he spoke of his concern at the situation of Suzuki, and Honda's need to have competition, and someone to measure themselves against. On the evidence of the first day of testing, they won't be finding it in MotoGP. Casey Stoner complained of chatter from the new softer compound Bridgestone tires, and said he did not expect this to be Honda's 2012 bike, with more work needed on stability in corner entry and engine braking. Fastest man of the day - by a whole second over the first non-Honda, may I remind you - Dani Pedrosa said that he still hadn't figured out how to ride the new bike, had learned a lot and was still piecing everything together. If they are a second faster than the rest now, Zeus only knows how much quicker they will be once they get everything sorted out.

It looks like Alvaro would be Sic's replacement at Gresini Honda! He is a fine prospect.

      Hondas are bloody fast!
      Pedrosa: 1’32.186(40 laps)
      Stoner: 1’32.322(42 laps)
      Spies: 1’33.226(72 laps)
      .......

Valencia being comparatively small stop go circuit Hondas with their superior acceleration have done well I guess. More flowing circuits will reduce the gap from the Hondas but still one second gap is humungous.
Following tweet from motomatters is comforting
Rossi looks like Rossi again, not like somebody stole his leathers as he did at Valencia last year. The new frame is an improvement.
Well done RdP. Really happy for him. He deserves better race standings.
There are talks going on for two rider team for Suzuki with Hopper also in. But it'll be 800 for now as the 1000 isn't ready yet.

Desmosedici designer Filippo Preziosi says the final version of GP12 is not the one that is being tested in Valencia. Also VR is not too happy with the bike:
          Rossi: new chassis, old problems

But Hector Barbera has something more positive to say, Quote from Motomatters:
"It feels more like my Aprilia 250," he said, saying that he could now feel the front end on corner entry, something he could not do the 800 bike with the carbon fiber chassis using the engine as a stressed member. The power and gearbox were incredible, but he was most pleased with the feel of the bike."

Hope to see VR and Ducati Team upfront in 2012.

Finally, Alvaro Bautista has been roped in to ride with Team San Carlo Honda Gresini in 2012. The Spaniard to ride a Honda RC213V for 2012.

He also took part in evaluating the 800 of Hiroshi Aoyama.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

                  Valentino Rossi:
“These were two important days of testing because we needed to collect a lot of data for the next few months of work, which will be crucial. The positives of this bike are certainly the engine, which I like, and the fact that it handles a bit better than the previous one. It’s definitely more fun, in part because you can get sideways more. The frame isn’t bad, but it needs work. We have to improve the braking, because I need to brake harder and later, and we need to improve traction under acceleration. Filippo has many ideas, and now we have a little time to apply them before next year’s tests.”

                  Filippo Preziosi
"...... carry out a series of comparisons between different solutions, as there are still chassis parameters that we have to define for the project we’re working on. It has been really hard work, but we’ve collected a lot of information that we’ll now use for the design that we’ll be doing in the coming weeks."
                  Not quite there yet! Phew!

Those CRT were awfully dangerous to be running next to the fast 1000's at such slow speed, Dorna better get this right before something nasty happens. as usual. FIM is sleeping and WSBK is owned by the same duds.

Most of the CRTs had their first track outing at the Valencia test. The slowest bike/CRT is 7.366 secs slower than Dani,s RC213V. There's a lot of time and testing ahead for the CRTs to get competitive with the other prototypes (at least with the satellite bikes). During the two day test, the Suter-BMW ridden by Carmelo Morales improved his best lap time by 3.078 secs. Morales picked up over three seconds between the first and the second day!

Rossi is 5th awrite. But the diff from the Stoner is not closed so much.

They are just testing, I 'm sure they are not concerned about the fastest laptimes.

Start of the season would be very exciting and would answer a lot of question.

                            P.S:- 2012 thread so early...

                            wasnt kinda thinking of........

I sure would like suzuki to stay but stuff like this > Suzuki pulls out of MotoGP? isn't really helping.
