^^Okay my trackpad is broken clicking so many times browsing the photos
So apparently there will be two races that will happen within the MotoGP race
; one of factory prototypes and other the CRTs.
For me Aspar team looks to be the strongest with Randy on the Aprilia powered bike. And then comes the Edwards team followed by Gresini.
Which team do you think would be the front runner in the CRT section of the race? Needless to predict the factory prototype section

Its going to be very interesting. Some situations that could happen is
1. These guys could be slow and spoil the qualifying for factory bikes and stoner kicks somebody and they retaliate and Stoner s on the ground clapping.
2. A few injured bodies and CRTs could be faster than a factory bike !!! . I suspect Hector ,Karel and Bradl could be the slow coaches with GP bikes.
3. RDP could be a dark horse ! ( completely insane, inane and a hopeless comment.. but u never knw! Remember Brawn ? ) . And with Aprilia supplying parts back door you can never be sure
Some stuff i would have liked.
1. These CRTs should have been left to select the tire manufacturer of their choice. Here again they could have made a bike to go faster easier than now.
2. Dorna should ve pulled up a few big names from Racing world into this. Corser should ve been brought to lead development even if he s not riding.Where the hell is Tardozzi ?
3. I don t like a nobody like pony hernandes to ride in the elite GP series
Some questions i have.
1. where do these old models go ? I mean 2010 M1 , RC 210 V ?, GP 9 , GP 10 . Why can t they just lease this to the teams and let them do whatever they want ? It was happening in WSBK but even there its not happening now. Yes the folks are gonna be slow but they fill the numbers but can surprise with podiums and could even cost less to race.
2. Why no Liquor money in GP ? Effenbert in WSBK is planning for 4 bikes this season !!! . Jack Daniels is the car i follow in V8
.
Will add more later.BAYLISSTIC !!!!

LOL How about Stoner breaking his bike's tail by repeated patting on it in a single practice sessionOriginally posted by suren View PostIts going to be very interesting. Some situations that could happen is

Indeed I am expecting a lot from RdP and Aprilia sure knows how to create ripples in WSBK and now in MotoGP.
Bradl should be faster because of the bike called Honda
and Hector/Karel will depend on what is rolled out of Ducati garage.
Nice Idea about the tyres. This way other manufactureres to show their prowess.Originally posted by suren View PostSome stuff i would have liked.

Yup there will be a lot of not so prepared but heavily funded riders riding the CRTs. But we have seen that happening with guys like Talmaschi, etc.
I feel since these are prototype machine and companies would not want to let other teams open up their engines (since CRTs are allowed to) and gain knowledge company confidential technologies. Just a thought.Originally posted by suren View PostSome questions i have.

This is just to correct this bold part in your post above. I'm not sure if this was just a typo or something else, but the 4 stroke Honda GP bikes were named RC211V (1st race bikes of 21st century; v-config) and the one's after the reduced capacity (800cc) were called RC212V. The next year bikes are named RC213V with the capacity back to 1000cc.Originally posted by suren View PostSome questions i have.

P.S - if the bold part was just a type, please ignore my comments above.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

RdP & Aprilia indeed appear to be a very good package..., I think that it would be as close to the definition of a CRT as it is gonna be....(read motomatter's CRT FAQ to get an idea of how unclear it is)....
am sure Bradl would be fast....Pirro might prove to be a bit inconsistent...
the big question is - is yamaha going to be able to catch upto Honda or not??....,
and is there any news about yamaha having found a sponsor yet??
read it somewhere....
@Sepang test if
rossi +1.5 from top... same season as this
if +0.5 to1....maybe few wins...
if 0 to +0.5....championship challenge..

@Suren: As @king suggested, your question of why not CRTs using factory engines is answered by the article from motomatters.com:
CRT FAQ: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About The Claiming Rule Teams, But Were Afraid To Ask | MotoMatters.com | Kropotkin Thinks
The decision-making process is best illustrated by examples. The Aspar team has been accepted as a CRT entry, and looks likely to field race bikes based on the Aprilia RSV4 it will lease from Aprilia. Aspar is still a CRT entry, because he will be managing the bikes independently, only returning engines to Aprilia when it is time for maintenance. A satellite team, on the other hand, can do nothing to the bikes other than strip and prepare them for racing. Each bike comes with two factory engineers who run the engines and the electronics. The teams are forbidden to manage their own electronics, but have to do so through the factory engineers.
However, if a new team run by Aprilia technical director Gigi Dall'Igna is entered to race the same bikes, funded by Aprilia and racing in Aprilia colors, they will not be accepted as a CRT entry, but as a factory prototype. The presence of Dall'Igna on the team is sufficient to prove that such a team is being run by Aprilia, not a private team.
On the other hand, if a private team were to purchase a Honda RC213V from HRC - an impossibility, as the bikes are not for sale to anyone, but still - and could prove that it intended to run the RC213Vs with no interference or involvement from Honda, then they could be accepted as a CRT.

^^it gets further complicated....the engines aren't restricted to be production derivatives....they must only be 4-strokes and max 81mm bore....this leaves a hell lot of modification & development possible...,
Its a good move...instead of becoming a factory team and having tons of restrictions on engines/fuel etc, plus the added pressure of company's reputation on line...., enter as a CRT team...with no restriction on engine no. and 3 litres of extra fuel etc...develop and learn, then make your team...
and Aspar is as good as they get when it comes to getting the most out of a bike....
I believe it was somewhere in motomatter's twitter feed...Originally posted by pushkarb View PostPlease do mention the link once you remember it!

isn't my own judgement if you are suggesting so....
, stlll I agree with it more or less....maybe I would change sepang to Qatar(first race)....

True true!In reality, it is vanishingly unlikely that a factory will claim an engine. The loss of face and prestige involved for the Japanese factories especially means they will never claim an engine. It would mean that they were afraid of being beaten by a bike costing a fraction of their own. The rule has been put in place merely as an ultimate threat, to deter other factories from fielding fully factory-backed engines under the guise of a CRT entry.
Just asking out of curiosity **Runs off to see motomatter tweets**Originally posted by kingkong View Postisn't my own judgement if you are suggesting so....
