  • Yamaha SZ 150 Coming to India

Yamaha Motor India has confirmed that the company will be launching its latest model Yamaha SZ 150 in the Indian market. The model is expected to be launched in the first week of August. The model shares its engine with FZ16 which will be detuned to make sure that it yields maximum fuel efficiency. The expected mileage to be delivered is 50-55 kmpl. The model will strongly compete with Honda Unicorn giving similar mileage and yet sporting better styling and novelty in its features.

The new Yamaha SZ 150 is expected to be priced at Rs. 60,000 to reach out to the average motorcycle commuter. Yamaha had showcased the model at the Delhi Auto Expo 2010. According to the sources, the expected launch date is 05 August 2010.

Fazer 250 sounds Juicy. Maybe Yamaha wants it to compete against the Ninja here.
If its prized at around 2.5k, Muhuahahah... I will be jumping up and down with joy!
          Can't wait!!

Nice to have a 'Detuned FZ + Tuned Gladiator = SZ150'. The styling is nowhere close to new Unicorn, atleast from pictures it seemed. The first impression i got after seeing the picture was truely Gladiator styling is bought into this bike.

where are disks?......for 150 cc in India disk has became the norm, though i would like to add that it looks neat, but very basic 150cc at the most it can only compete against discover 150cc.

Finally , we Indians get to see some competition..
Yamaha trying to get to Honda and not the Bajaj's or the Hero Honda's.. now that's what we want!!
The bike looks pretty clean... The pricing and the styling seems aggressively done to compete the Unicorn..

how many bikes would the yamaha launch in the 150cc segment?? Already there was a fz,fz-s,fazer with the same engine & now add another bike with same engine to the list. & moreover the r15 is also here. The yamaha either needed to launch a 125cc or an above 150cc bike. There are enough bikes in competition for the 150cc & 100cc by yamaha
NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT

this bike is quite different from other yamaha 150ccs, for those who dont want a semi/full faired bike like fazer/r15 or FZs for it bulky and meaner looks. this should prove to be more of "unicorn" model of yamaha. I think it will work.
