For a commuter bike, I wouldn't agree! Disc setup would come at an extra price, which a commuter might not be willing to dish out. I agree with the efficiency aspect vs. a drum brake, but its better giving an option between a drum & disc setup. Let th consumer decide!

    My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

when ppl buying twisters and passions are opting for disc brake versions,i dont see why it should be a standard fitment on the bike..if it comes as an option, good for both, cost concious buyer and ppl who prefer a disc setup on the bike
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

Guys just got a update regarding SZ's launch that it would be available in two variants named SZ16 & SZ16X.Both the variants will be without disc break & SZ16 will be without self. One more update is that white colour is not launching as of now & three colours will be available in SZ16X variant ( Red, Black & Grey ) & two colour in SZ16 ( Red & Black ).SZ16X will be with tank scoop & SZ16 will be without tank scoop.

No news heard about Fazer's powerful variant till now but probability cant be denied but there isn't much of probability either.Other model to be launched is YBR125 to be placed below SS125.

One of my friend wants to buy a 150 cc motorcycle.

Can anyone tell me how to convince him for the SZ150? I mean can anyone tell its USP (Unique Selling Proposition)?

even i have the same opinion as yours. Who would like to pay nearly 60000 for a bike without even a disk brake?? By this strategy the yammie cant compete with any other company.

I am just making a guess over here but may be low pricing & a better performance & mileage than the fz/fazer can be its so called USP.

Actually that friend of mine is fictional. I just wanted to bring to discussion about the USP of the Yamaha SZ.

Hmm..., hopefully it is better performing than other 150 cc streetbikes?

                              You meant fictional, didnt you?

The USP is that it doesnt have a disc.
So you wont go flying over the handlebars when you brake in the wet

i dont think this bike will come without disks (optional maybe?).. simply cause of the competition and also cause when the gladitor has it why not this bike?? the guy who posted, giving info about the variants and colors, isnt exactly a reliable source (no offence meant) its simple selling strategy..

i suppose the USP is its no frills package.. a commuter yamaha with "supposedly" better mileage and i'm guessing a lesser price tag..
