Hi friends, I went to the showroom today and asked for the test ride of the bike here at Allahabad. They gave me the test ride of the machine well honestly the bike is not so cool due to some things which I never enjoyed the most.

The switches were not so good taken out from stunner, very light in weight.
Well at the gear shifting was very smooth typical honda. But honestly I prefer Yamaha r15 as that is a better bike than this. Those who r beginners for them this bike cbr 150 is the best for a change but one suggestion before booking take the test ride of both the machines.
.

No Offense Bro..
But please try putting some punctuations in your write-up.Makes it easier to understand what is written

Did you rev it till the redline? It's a track bike and most of its power must be in the upper end of the rev range.

agreed unicorn is 13.3 hp but the initial pickup of that bike is better than this cbr 150.

Well go out today at your nearest dealer of honda and please take a test ride of this bike to feel and believe. Then give your comments.

As expected.

Actually I had predicted this back in January 2012 when the specs came out at the time of Auto Expo.

And with a peak torque of 12.56 Nm @8500 RPM, it will be a chore to ride in stop-go city traffic. For some perspective, the CB Unicorn has identical torque output (actually slightly more) but @ 5500RPM.

Also, the peak power is just 17.8 Ps@10500 RPM. This is not significantly more than the R15 V1 OR V2(17 Ps@8500 RPM) which makes peak power at significantly (2k) lower RPMs and 20% more peak torque at 1k lower RPM. (15Nm @7500 RPM).

I wonder who would buy one of these over the tried, tested, better and probably cheaper R15 v2.0 . Honda needs to come down to earth while pricing this or its no.s will be nowhere close to those of the R15.

Edit: All CBR150R specs are here:

Google Translate:Honda Indonesia CBR150R

This somewhat proves that numbers rarely lie. What do you have to say now Mr. Satyen Poojary?

Edit: And now if you come up with "It is a track bike, why crib about street performance? " then maybe this bike is good only for people from Chennai, Coimbatore and NCR. Rest of the country is not the target customer. Also, how much do you want to bet that the identically priced Duke 200 which is brilliant on the street will also most certainly lap the MMSC faster than this.

The handling in the corners were very good I liked that plus the best part was I had a pillion so could not lean much as he was scared.
Sorry could not take the snaps. Well the brakes are not that good as my bluebird i.e. PULSAR 220, but still they were ok ok I had to pull a lot to reach to 70.
Well did not enjoy the bike. Overall a flop show for 1.30 on road if the price is somewhere 85000 to 90000 it is a good buy. But investing 1.30 I suggest to go for cbr 250 a better deal.

At what rpms you shifted the gears? Did you ride the bike in higher rpms? What speeds you have achieved? Maybe you have not tested the bike to its full potential.

You are the first person to have a TD. You haven't described your TD experience in full. So, I was just asking a few questions.
Sorry if it offends you but I'm not the Duke type. Its too aggressive for my taste.

First of all, I didn't TD it yet. Don't have the patience to waste my time over this.

Secondly, why would I be offended? I didn't even reply to your post. Its purely your choice where you want to spend your money.. Its your money after all!

And since you are actually from NCR, I suppose you come in one of the 3 the 'Targetted Customer' regions for the CBR150R. So good for you.

Especially after these NCR specific announcements:
Now, overspeeding can drive you straight to jail - The Economic Times

Now, take your bike for a spin on Buddh International Circuit - The Times of India

People should really be considering CBR150Rs as alternatives

NDTV Review -

Bike is Responsive...quick..and 6 speed gear box is a gem...

Very Quick to respond and never complaining...

Bike is quick to mark though it feel to be happier to stay under 100 KMPH....'

Corners well...

Very easy handling and maneuver....mainly due to lesser weight..

Announcement

Honda CBR150 R launched soon...
