  • Ok guys, i have a hunch this is a VTR faired. Or VTR-F

Check this video, pause it at exactly 2:04 seconds. We can see two distinct pipes just like in the pic doing rounds here. The second pipe is the radiator pipe.

    YouTube - 2009 Honda VTR 250

My honest guess is that it a Faired VTR. V-Twin Race !!!

    Thankfully the thumbnail is enough!!!

true. the alloys, disc, radiator, forks,
even the shape of the exhaust pipe are virtually identical.

This bike could be a fully faired version of the VTR250.

            looks VFRish.

May be.... but who said its coming to India?

It may come, but the full faired nature, and thanks to MOJO this may be ridiculously priced if it ever came!

As of now the Ninja is bang on bucks, atleast for a month or so.

The ninja would have been a great bet if it were priced around 2.2ish..!

                        • The Ninja comes to India in CKD right? Maybe Honda is going to produce this VTR/VFR in India? That will give them a super pricing advantage. But knowing Honda and (as someone said) their arrogance in India, it might still come at a premium.

This bike could be a fully faired version of the VTR250.
But if its a V-Twin, I doubt you will be able to see two exhaust pipes in the front. The exhaust port of the rear cylinder will be facing the rear of the bike, right?

Here is a reference pic, of a 09 VTR250. You can clearly see the exhaust pipe of the rear cylinder & the 'Y' joint in this pic.

EDIT: Here is a better pic

                            Click the pic for High-Res.

What development? I don't see any

@Technician - That's a very tricky qusetion. As per my news its a new engine but in Honda's term any tweaking on the current engine and they call it an altogether new engine. Honestly there is no confirmation about engine and it may well turn out to be a 300cc single the same one doing duty on CB300R. That way they can take on Ninja with a package of 300cc single,Honda brand, VFR lineage and around 30000-40000 cheaper than Ninja.
Sound perfect to get half the share of Ninja 250's sales atleast in India and other South East markets where the brand Honda is bigger than anything

                              • I agree. But here in India people are expecting any 250-300 to be a fire breather with 12-13k rpm ceiling which can only happen if it is a 44-45 mm stroke bike with liquid cooling. A 300 cc single is not going to be a really short stroke to make it possible.

Unless a kind hearted benevolent Mr. XYZ in Aoyama has a change of heart and decides to detune an existing 78 X 52.2 bore X stroke engine to 30PS and plonk the same into a small version of VFR to satisfy the people like Mr. Gourab Das, poor Technician and anxious Sheelpriye. But it is highly unlikely but possible.
