i don think this break-up will hurt hero motors much....
    coz hero honda has:-

1>> wide range of dealer network
    2>> cuztomer support(spcly rural)
    3>> 3-4 production units
    4>> loads of money...
5>> established brands like splendor, passion, cbz, karizma

n plz don think munjals r fool, they mus hav learnt a lot from this 25 year old jv and their partner honda n they must hav several things is their minds...
infact i think hero motors will emerge as a more stronger player in indian market as well as in global market coz due to terms and conditions of jv they were not allowed to sell products in those markets where honda already exists but now after split they will be free to sell their products anywhere in the world...

remember tvs n bajaj r doing much better then suzuki and kawasaki...

hero knows everything about indian market and its requirements more then anyone else...

many international players will be eager to form a jv with such a successfull player in mass motorcycle segment and a world leader...

one thing more frends, honda making a big mistake...
just have a look at their sales figures they havnt done anything spcl in those 10 years which they hav spend in indian market...
they are far behind hero honda and it will take whole lot of time for them to trace hero honda...
in case(5%) hero motors lacks in some thing then bajaj will get benefit not honda...
    sigpic
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith and use up a lot of fuel....

Thanks .The key thing for HERO will be "Quality" which they are known for .Coming back to the TVS-SUZUKI example ,once the JV was off ,then even small issues with the TVS-FIERO were being magnified by the people and the word usually among the public was that the quality of the TVS-FIERO wasn't the same as the SUZUKI-FIERO.Even though the bike was the same. This is what HERO has to keep in mind ,they have to keep their reputation and strengthen the spares and service network further. As they can't take things for granted and bank on the goodwill they had earned as HERO-HONDA, which curiously will make it even tougher for them. They have to do serious planning and can't continue on the same lines as they had been doing when the JV was there. For example they may find it difficult ,if they make the spares come at a premium over that of the other makers and the spares availability has to improve.

The thing HERO have to their advantage is the huge cash reserves they have,i mean when BAJAJ came out with the PULSAR and TVS with their VICTOR,they were in a make or break kind of situation. With not much cushion in their balance sheets and a lot was riding on the success of the home-grown products.

Hero can easily poach the R&D engineers, that is engineers who have worked on home grown products and have experience in dealing with the issues they faced.I believe REML did the same too ,when they poached from BAJAJ's stars ahead team.

The present HONDA engineered models are sure to last some time in relevance to the needs of the market. So they have time to develop a model and to keep their quality reputation.
Life begins, once you hit the power band !!

Honda doing big mistake??? lolz.. along with sales..look at the waiting list for Honda products!! they have stopped Activa bookings.. dealership networks, capacity are far more easier to acquire than technology. Of course competition in general will benefit.. but now this issue has got good coverage even in local media in every state.. so I believe people are more or less aware of Honda as technical know how of the jv with Hero.. and remember Honda won't have to establish their brand after the split..they have already done that.

          so u think hero(splender, passion n cbz) are not a established brand????lolzzzzz....
splender, passion n cbz r much much more established brands in india in comparison to honda(dazzler, unicorn, shine n twister etc etc) and for your knowledge even after split hero will retain these brands not honda...ok
and if after sales services and spreading network is such a easy task then hyosung, kawasaki and many other companies wont b tying knots with other companies...
bro it will take a lots n lots of time to trace hero motors even after split...
in india honda is best in scooter not bikes, these bookings which you r seeing all the time in honda showrooms is due to scooter coz they are increasing their scooter capacity and sacrificing bike production coz they wana maintain thr no1 status in scooter market....

if u r breaking jv with worlds biggest motorcycle manufacturer then u r making a mistake bro, just hav a look at market position if u think honda will overtake hero in terms of sale in a short period of time then u r nt thinking right and if u think they need time then acc to me bajaj will take advantage not honda....

Well.just hope, after the split,Honda would get more time for their own products(Activas,Unicorns).
Hope there would be no more waiting periods....And even they can focus on new innovative products.

Where I did I mention that Splendor/Passion are not established brands?? HH has become largest manufacturer using Honda's technology.. the level of awareness among the buyers is much more than it was a decade ago. Honda may not overtake the very next minute.. yes..agreed immediate benefit will be more to Bajaj & TVS.. But there are number of people out there who go and buy a bike on the name of Honda.. till now they are buying splendor/passion coz, they know that it's Honda's engine. Honda has timed the split perfectly.. their other plant will be ready by next few months which will give huge capacity addition to Honda. In my opinion Honda will not find it very difficult to double it's sales from here if the split is announced officially. On the contrary Hero group will have to concentrate more on preserving sales rather than growth. It's hard to imagine people go and buy HH Hunk/xtreme after the split.. coz, there will be a big question mark on spares availability after some time as Hero brings in new engines for them. It's not going to be a smooth process for Hero group for sure.. In fact Hero not ending this JV was their biggest mistake..
