what if hero ties up with bajaj???? just a wild thought!!!! afterall, their strategy of making bike names as brand names is also similar to the bajaj line of thought!!!

Hero BMW / Hero Aprillia / Hero Triumph

The most likely would be Hero BMW though.. Its high time we had a German invasion...

Maybe they can brand the bikes as "Munjal" Motorcycles

        after all..
        Honda
        Suzuki
        Kawasaki
        Yamaha
        Harley-Davidson
        Bajaj...
        Mahindra
        Hyundai(I think)

all owe their origins of the brand names to the surnames of its founders.

They better come up with a good strategy. They should come up with a premium performance oriented machine to showcase their r&d and build up their brand name.

I say Good riddance - Hero motors must shut down. They havent been innovative in a long time (have they been ever?). We need competition and companies like these just pushed on with sticker jobs, minor updates. Never the first ones to offer anything radically different or performing.

At a time when every other manufacturer are competing to bring out the best products, they just make do with some new sticker jobs. I personally feel that their products are now obsolete.

Munjals won't have tough time in establishing Splendor, Passion plus as brands. But i'm doubtful if they can do that with CBZ & Hunk.. even CBZ to an extent is ok.. but I don't think Hunk can be positioned as a brand!!
Moreover getting a reliable engine for their only scooter pleasure will be quite a task for them. Without Honda's tech support it'll be really tough for Hero group to sell bikes in 150+ segment..

Interestingly people are actually well aware of this possibility in my home town in Andhra Pradesh.. I was surprised to hear that they are already debating whether to buy a HH or directly go for Honda!!!

I can see that Bajaj is already positioning itself to gain the maximum from this situation.. with the launch of KTM's they will be in ideal situation to gain market share in bikes.

That according to me should be the biggest concern for "Munjal Motorcycles" (oops..!!) "Hero Motors".

Ideally that should not happen because Splendor will be still Splendor and so will the other bikes like Passion/CBZ Xtreme and Karizma. But who knows?

Who knows, Honda might have forced them to launch it,
