  • The only thing which I dont like about the 650 is the weight. its nearly 200 plus, whereas other 600s of its class are near around 150-160 kgs only! max 180. No wonder its Korean.

Better yet, finally great that the 600s are foraying into the market. I really hope the cbr and the R6 follows soon.

Yeah, Riding position looks a lot more purposeful yet comfortable, The 650R looks like a very conservative compromise. If you horizontally split an image of a rider on the ninja you'd think they were two different machines above and below

Dude, the 600s weighing 150-160 kg dry are not in the same class.
GT650R is not a super sports in its essence. Cannot be compared to any of the I4 600s.
GT650R ca be compared to a Suzuki SV650 and you shall find that bikes in this class are heavy and that too for a reason.

        • One thing amazes me more that this bike must have passed homologation process before its entrance into Indian Market in the near future without any leakage of info. from any front. And the efforts by Hysoung/ Garware whatever are really serious in nature insofar as they must have gone the extra mile to make the thing pass all the Indian regulations that too for a product which is strictly going to be a niche product. Good effort by them.

Unfortunately will be around 5.25-5.5.A bit on the higher side for this kinda bike.

5.5 is a so-la-la price. Still in reach though and if by the time of launch there are no other legal 600s around then its just a premium we pay for having something than not having it at all. Reviews across the www talk good of the bike.

              Hyosung GT650R Review - Motorcycle.com

May not be the best bike but it sure is the best launch considering the terrible injustice the infamous duties have bee doling out to all of us and how terribly difficult the struggle has to be to buy any litre class at 15 lacs.
The power alone will keep one occupied and in love with the bike for a minimum of 2 years thats assuming that the bike will fall apart after 2 years. There is no way in hell it will start falling apart.
They sell their bikes in american and european markets so I wouldnt bother too much about spares and after sales either. Pune/Bombay/Banglore/Delhi/Chandigarh and all other metropolitan cities have enough dealers who can get you them parts and enough mechanics who work on superbikes. Even if Garware fails in an epic manner to handle the after sales service I wouldnt mind getting the product aka Hyosung GT650R for 5 lacs or something and GTFO of there

Will there be bike loan or finance options available on these Hyosung bikes or will everyone have to pay hard cash...

I believe Ninja 250R has got Bajaj Finance option available...

                • +1 to the above TenHut! When people can so passionately maintain their Comet's still long after it went out of support, I see no reason for that to happen in the GT650. And it just satiates the requirement of a biker aspiring to a bigger bike but unwilling(read impossible) to spend a 6-7 figure sum for a bike, thanx to the ridiculous duties.

I think its a subjective matter. There are enough bikers who will say N650 looks better for a lot of reasons...

                      Me being one of them.

That's right. Companies just can't afford to put in the same R&D to these bikes, simply because the return is not worth it...

However, a 10-12 kgs wet weight increase (+ no ABS) can't be ignored (GT650, compared to N650). But again, Hyosung has some 8PS more too to carry that weight, so both these bikes have some '+'es and '-'es.

You are the first guy who has said that N650r looks better than Hyosung 650!!! Never ever heard any one say that even in international forums...

                          • Consider that when the jap supersport 600 do eventually arrive they're still going to be atleast 7-8L+. That's just the downside of superlative Branding. For us mere mortals who will invariably do more than 95% percent of our riding on the streets, such a bike is superbly placed. Useful low and mid range torque is the order of the day for street riding and that's what this bike delivers aplenty. Would you rather have a bike you can do almost everything with all the time or do something stellar once in a while? I'll take the former... Is there a super-commuter class?

Think about it... What's the most common complaint with the R15?

As for hyo's quality... It seems the only complaint I seem to find is with the paint and that's nothing a little Teflon can't handle

No the bike is yet to clear the homologation hurdle. Yesterday's event was just an official announcement that Garware Motors is here and the price mentioned were indicative, final prices might vary by 10-20k. The news that Garware is coming with Hyosung is there in market from 3 months or so.

The ideal price for this bike in CKD avtar should be around 4.5lakh on road but as Garware is new and they need to come with a whole new setup is escalating the overall cost. They tried it to price it at 5.10-5.20lakh on road but now it has moved upwards by another 20-30k
