Where will they provide the dealerships required to even target min numbers.... Guess there homework isnt that complete... Anyhow for a start GT650R is fine but guess the GT250/GT250R will have larger audience ....

Well the scooters are from mahindra but they are developed by kinetic. So reliability is not a question as we all know that the old kinetic scooters were very reliable.
Although the only question which is in my mind is "why did mahindra renamed kinetic?? The kinetic name was way too better than mahindra.

Enough of scooters & before any mod action now back to the topic.
The price is very mouth watering after considering the price of the ninja 250. The aftersales service would be a big problem. I think they should have made a JV with an indian company in order to avoid such problem. Anyways since they are taking such a serious & important step i think they might have surely thought about the aftersales also. But my question is "where are the showrooms & SC's ??"
Even i have the same question.
But i doubt if they would launch the bike this year. If they were launching the bike then there would have been atleast one ad about it. Or there would have been a lot of "hulchul or bhaag-daud" on it.

Kinetic (Honda)... M&M prolly didn't want any associations.

I hope you were serious when you posted this. I am from kinetic's home town and know the owners personally. However, in our town, kinetic was renamed as - 'Kahi Nahi Thik' which means nothing is right. Kinetic Honda was extremely reliable but that is 25 year old news. Look at any of the products launched by kinetic after KH. How many do you still see on road?

Mahindra was wise and purchased only assets from kinetic. They didn't want to touch the brand name with a 100 ft pole.

How many ads did you see before Stalio was launched? Even though it was a mass market product, no information at all was coming out for this product. It is quite natural for a manufacturer not to disclose specs/ pricing before launch. Did you know that even for Ninja 250R, there was never any advt. before or after launch? Did you know that even after the bike was official unveiled, pricing / booking procedure was not clear for first 7 days?

How many ads have you seen for Fireblade, Busa, CB1000 ? These are not mass market products and will be marketed only to a niche identified by company.

I am not trying to defend Garware or opposing Kinetic. Can some one who is objecting to Garware name quote what 4 wheeler manufacturing experience Kirloskar had before entering into a JV with Toyota? or Siel before tying up with Honda? BTW, both are still JV partners with their respective companies. For that matter, can someone quote what experience Maruti had before starting up with Suzuki?

It all depends on the principal company's products, work ethics and production methods.

MG was saying last time that they have decided to up the price of GT650R by 75,000. No such news of the ST7 though.
Wonder what's gonna happen!

I hope they launch it soon, the price increase for GT650R makes sense after the launch of Mojo. even a 5.5 lakhs price on GT650R makes it worth buying.

they prolly shouldn't price it too close to the Kawasaki 650R tho.

but 5.2 - 5.5 lac seems like the price-tag it's going to end up with.

Last heard there is supposed to be a small press conference tomorrow which will announce the JV between the two companies.
