Finally got my bike delivered yesterday.........a Silver Std.

Got a call from my dealer today saying that honda guys are coming to the dealership on tuesday morning to take a feedback regarding the ceeber. Since its a working day, I have asked them to call me as i cannot go there in the morning.

26th Jan 2010, on the way to Goa on our Karizmas (Karizma R and ZMR), me and a Roomie had stopped by at one of the honda showrooms on NH17 and saw a poster of CBR there. heard the booking starts on 1st Jan and we are just joking about who can afford to buy it!

2-3 months later the ZMR owner decides to book a CBR and i happily took his ZMR and sold my Karizma R (Still miss it!!)

another 2 months later- i did a test ride and booked one!

he got his RED CBR a couple of weeks back and today got a call from Domlur honda for the Payment

The Real wait begins now. . .

Regarding polish the ones below are the best and in that order...

1. Meguiars (the best so far and sworn by many detailers across the world) - Cost : very expensive. IIRC its approx 1k for a tin.

2. Turtle Wax Super Hard Shell (i use this and its very good). Cost - 250 rupees for a jar/tin.

3. ArmorAll Wash n Wax (this is a shampoo containing carnauba wax) - i use this too and it gives a superb sheen to the bike. No need to wax polish the bike after a wash. Wax polish can be done IF needed only once in 2 months or so. Costs 350 odd rupees for a bottle (500 ml IIRC).

I bought mine almost a year back and wash the bike almost every fortnight or so. Still have half the bottle contents remaining. All that is needed is 2-3 capfulls in a bucket of water for super foamy shampoo. Its highly concentrated so a couple of capfulls is all that is needed for a bucketfull of water.

4. Most important - Never use a rag, old torn banian (vest) or undies or any other piece of clothing to wash the bike or to dry it.

For this buy microfiber cloth which is super-absorbent (absorbs water like a sponge and wont scuff, scratch or damage the paint). Turtle wax has a set of 3 MF towels for around 600 odd rupees. Total VFM and highly recommended. Use one to wash, one to dry and the third to wax the bike I have been using this for almost a year and absolutely love it.

though quite late,finally managed to test drive a red c-abs model.this is for those who are yet to get their hands on one.the sales person started the bike,sound wasn't too convincing and remained that way throughout the ride.seating position was good,it isn't as straight as one would have thought.As i own a p200,all comparisons are with that.power wasnt too surprising till 70,i couldn't go beyond that,bike was 3000kms old!brakes are good.tried braking hard a couple of times and wow!change from 1st gear to second,the pillion falls backwards.knocking was there at lower rpms,handled quite well in traffic,for a first timer like me on a 2500cc bike,it inspires confidence.no auto off indicators.horn was OK.
was disappointed with the sound.and the welding on the frame.gear slotting wasn't that easy.
if i was to upgrade from a p200,well,yes!if you are searching for that 6th gear,its time to upgrade!but dont expect too much before 6k rpm!
