That seems to be a very smartly written sales page. I am no technical guy, so can't comment on the authenticity of what's written there.. but there are lots of things mentioned to take care of:
- Using petroleum oil instead of Synthetic during break-in
- Changing the oil and filter within 20 miles of riding
- do all the process immediately after first startup of the engine
- that kind of hard acceleration and deceleration would require big highway with minimal traffic
Would be great if knowledgeable people here would throw some light on this kind of break-in.. do the rings really don't seal well in easy break-in?

Just called the Honda dealer at Siliguri where i booked my bike. He says two bikes have arrived. Both Non-Abs, both Red. I could come and have a look but no test rides are being given.
Since i booked an ABS version, I'll have to wait 15-20 days, at least. The Non-Abs models are being sold first, despite me booking the bike within the first few days of the launch..
On Monday, me and my nephew will be travelling 260 kms back and forth (Gangtok, Sikkim- Siliguri, West Bengal) just to see the CBR in the flesh and we can't even ride them.
Hope we get to at least sit on them...
Real Excited...

Guys!!
Just saw a CBR250R whoop past me on NH4 as i was coming back from college!!!
I was going like about 65kmph n still he zoomed past me like i was stationary!!
What a bike!!
See my luck!! I dindnt even have to go to the showroom to see it

P.S - I am planning to go n see it in the show room.. Does anyone from pune seen it in any of the showrooms???- Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.
- What do you call a cyclist who doesn't wear a helmet? An organ donor
- Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
- Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly.

Good news Bengaluroooo...
THE CBR is here... Just back home after seeing it in flesh...
Yes Bangaloreans, you heard it right... Bike is here and we saw it in flesh...
And just not seeing, we touched it, felt it, sat on it, switched it on, put on the headlight & indicators, honked it, revved it, switched it off, opened the rear seat...
Wohhhooo!!! (sadly no test ride and no pics, but for now, chalta hai...
)
And then happily came home drenched in rain...
First impression: The bike is huge... It surely has a BIG bike presence. Quality of the parts looked really good. There were no issues with the clip-ons as we saw in some of the pics from Mumbai... I'm 5'8 and I felt it was perfect for my height. We started the engine and man... the sound was really really good compared to what we have heard in those videos... Yes, all 3 of us were equally surprised and satisfied with the sound. And when you rev it, it's going to have a better sound. We haven't found any negative points after spending 30 odd mins with the bike. Speedometer console looks a bit small though.
The showroom guys asked us not to click any photos right now, and we agreed to it.
And then we rode happily in the rain and came back home...
Seriously guys, pics don't do the justice. You've to see it to believe it. The wait is worth it.Last edited by sudeepnbr; 04-22-2011, 07:10 PM.Sudeep P Nambiar

Updates from Bangalore:
Few bikes are in the warehouse, The delay for bikes to be put on display is cause they are planning to put it across all the dealers at the same time. This could be as soon as next week.
Coming to the build quality.
I was pleasantly surprised, Fell in love in 1st sight. Felt like i was a teen again. :P.
Red/Silver looked spectacular, i feel this combo would be a icon of 250r like how green is for ninja.
Two things that did not impress me, saree guard & number plate. (add in the squeeky honk too)
But we have a 'jugaad' planned for number plate...
& well...saree guard is gonna come out anyway.:P
Me being a guy with moderate height(5'6), the stance and positioning was perfect.
The quality & attention to everything was impressive, i did check everything from nuts/bots/ feel of plastic and headlights...& it screamed 'Honda' in it.
The only thing that was not 100% perfect was the handle bar, the finishing is not as good as zmr's. (check it out yourself, the finishing was not exact on all the bikes we saw).
Coming to the most unexpected thing, the exhaust sounds smooth & chunky. I can confidently say the ceeber's exhaust sounds best among the bikes we currently have in India. Not too loud, but not like squirrel's fart either. Its pleasant to hear even in lower RPM's.
All in all, the bike is gonna revolutionize the biking scene here(its' already begun).
The joy we felt, the way the bike looks at you....inviting you for a 'quick' ride puts a smile on your face.
. .
P.s: I was told Honda is planning to give a accessories kit for nearly Rs.15000, which includes helmet, gloves, knee guard, elbow guard, paddock and wax coat.
