I hate this, I hate this, I hate this, I hate this!!!

I can buy an R15 for this, unless KTM 200 deploys a twin cylinder!!! Why not something in 400CC????

The KTM 200 Duke will appeal to a niche type of bikers.

Had it got a full fairing too, it might be attracted the "full faired" obsessed crowds too.. and more sales.

If the 125 cc unit can make 15Ps, I don't see the 200 cc having any difficulty in making 20+ Ps.
Not to mention the bike will be around 30 Kgs lighter than the CBR250R.

Even I might get one as my next bike.

Would 350 do? Coz the FAQs talk about a 350 too!
Twin cylinder KTM - You kidding right

I dont know of a small KTM which is multi cylindered... they are supposed to be torque monsters! and single here helps!
Even the duke 690 is a single cylinder bike!

Well, me being not a fan of KTM - has ZERO knowledge about these guys. May be they're torque monsters, but, to me anyday, love the inlines & inlines only

Next motorcycle SHOULD be multicylinder otherwise, I'd rather be happy with my Rx

If one expects KTM to forget its off road genes and start making inline 4 sports bikes, why would anyone lust for a KTM?

The 125 Duke has the KTM DNA in its looks and will most certainly inherit its ride experience as well.
Riding a KTM Duke would be to experience what KTM is known for i.e to get a taste for its off roads genes while still riding on the road.

KTM 200 seems to be a rumor.
My heart is just saying that this thread/news will again become nothing more than a discussion board.

This bike will surely take its time to come . rajiv bajaj had clearly said in one of the interviews that KTM will be launched in Europe first as they want to concentrate on discover and pulsar here .. bringing in more brands will be difficult for them to manage, now that already ninja's are here it ll be to many brands for them to handle...but lets be optimistic and hope it comes out soon coz i don see any bike in India other than the bullet and the R15 which is worth buying for a totally different experience ... The ninja even though exists is in a totally diff price range

                        read this folks

We're working on a 250cc up to 300 cc single-cylinder engine, also four valves with twin overhead camshafts," he confirms. "This has more or less the same external dimensions so we can install it in the existing 125 Duke model platform, and thus be able to offer the next level up in the model ladder to our customer as he gains experience, but with the same type of motorcycle. The 250/300 will come around 18 months after the 125 Duke, and the same concept we are doing on the 125/250 I later want to do in the 400cc and 600cc categories, too, as our younger customers and those in emerging markets move up the displacement ladder."

FUDGE!!! The 15Ps Duke 125 does a speedo indicated top end of 77MPH (revlimiter in 6th on the unrestricted model)! That like 124kmph(on a 125cc mill !)! Thats almost ZMA quick! I suddenly need the Duke 200 even more! (Going by the top speed extrapolation theory of xBHP by cross multiplication, the Duke 200 should do a 198kmph top end with peak power of 24Ps )

P.S.: The only reason I am interested in top speeds as I need to gauge how much stress will the engine be in when cruising at 100-110kmph... my usual cruise speed on a 4-laner.

The Premium price tag doesn't sound too bad now.. considering its no longer a 125 cc
