    I just did a power to cc ratio for the KTM 125 :- 15ps/125cc = 0.12

    For KTM 200 :- 0.12 * 200CC = 24PS

    For KTM 350 :- 0.12 * 350CC = 42PS .

So that is the power I am expecting . I know I may sound silly. Also I have heard that the KTM 125 was detuned to produce only 15 PS, so you never know the 200 might just cross the 25 PS barrier.

Good night boys, sweet dreams with all the above mentioned KTM's .
24 PS would be just sweeet. Hope it comes with that amount of power or may be more. Anything lesser wouldnt excite me much. And it would be really interesting to see what price point they are targeting at. I expect it be priced at 1.2-1.3 lakhs ex-showroom. If it breaches the 1.5 lakhs mark then it will have tough time in convincing people going for it as we have the CBR with more displacement which makes more power at least on paper.

Why on earth is KTM gonna accept a Bajaj designed bike, it is the other way around, KTM designs and Bajaj delivers, if Bajaj had the capability to do it on their own, why would they go after KTM? Lets leave this argument here, once the KTM and NG Pulsars are launched, we can figure it out ourselves, what say?

What matters is the product getting launched here in time without any further delays.

Absolutely.Though I think the Honda CBR250R got itself a price tag which it cannot match.

Even then, if KTM 200 is coming from Bajaj stables, the twin eyed radical Mojo is coming from the stable of one beefy SUV called Scorpio.

When Scorpio came to daylight with its all International looks, people speculated about the success of that model in our rugged nation, but since then it put Mahindra back into the SUV business.Pricing played a major part.....the only viable competitor the Tata Safari, lost to pricing and VFM of Scorpio.

On the other hand,KTM's refinement, quality and tech employed are different from Bajaj and it is going to raise the pricing bar.

But the erstwhile Mojo definitely needs a name change and a few design update before it hits production for market and eyes for the KTM 200.

I think and believe that like KTM 200, this Indian made 300cc is going to be unveiled in its final form at the Auto-Expo 2012.

What I feel good about is that, within a year there would be so many options available for the Bikers !!!! And all of them holds their own ground, perfectly.

Leaving market and competition alone, the KTM200 is going to be machine with the difference always !!!

Answer is BRAND. You see, Bajaj doesn't have the brand presence in European/Latin American markets, which essentially means they don't have pricing power in these markets. They can't sell a Bajaj 125 at the same price as Duke 125. At the moment Duke is selling at double the price of Honda CBF 125 in European markets, which is direct result of KTM's strong brand in Europe. It takes lot of time and money to enter these markets and establish a brand on their own for Bajaj. By going after KTM, Bajaj has bypassed this whole process, just what TATA did by acquiring JLR.

Well the differences would be obvious, NG Pulsars will share the same chasis/engine combination without the exotic trellis frame of KTM. And most probably no liquid cooling for Pulsars, just to keep it as affordable performance brand, at least for 135/150cc Pulsars.

I know someone in pune first hand who has ridden the early 125s and supposedly the 200. If you see a BAL test rider, you will probably die grinning and choking yourself, leave asides believe them having ANY concrete information on the bike. I have seen them multiple times!

The bike looks stunning, except the P135 like saari guard and tyre hugger. I don't think it will churn out 28 BHp. Bajaj's bits like the switch gears and other small bits are acceptable since they have decent quality and will help to cut down the cost. I would like to see it on road before the auto expo.

                          • I think we need to take this story with bucket loads salt!! Bajaj switch gear is of pretty good quality and I don't see any issues with it being used on KTM. In fact, we have already seen that on Duke 125, no complaints there so Duke 200 can't claim exception to that.

28 bhp is really overkill for a 200cc machine.. with 4-valves you might expect some power bump, but 28 bhp.. no way! If it's possible, then Honda would have made atleast 30bhp from CBR250!

                            • Day by day i am gaining more interest in this bike. The crucial point would be the pricing and the power output. I am expecting it to belt out around 21-22PS of power and priced at apx 1.1-1.2 lakhs ex-showroom!!
