The petrol PSUs were delaying increasing the prices since a few days now, in anticipation of a deduciton of excise duty on import of crude and petrol/diesel in this years budget.
Well the budget came n went and there is no decrease in the excise duty. The last revision of petrol prices were done when crude was at $92 per barrel. Right now its hovering at $112 per barrel. So there is bound to be a substantial hike !! Brace yourself !!
BTW, if its some solace, the prices have increased in US as well. All by 7 cents!!

Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!Comment

yup, 2-4 rs hike in petrol, 25-50 for cooking gas, diesel ???
sometimes i wish i had bought a Taurus !
getting petrol/diesel/LPG/Kerosene to the consumer doesnt cost a bomb, but since it`s a highly import dependent commodity the govt looses a lot of the foreign exchange on it, which causes trade deficit and then the govt has to borrow/ buy foreign exchange which devalues the rupee.Plus subsidizing diesel and kerosene the oil companies loose money which the govt partly repays them. so they tax the selling commodity to make up the losses.
ps: i may be wrong, please correct if so.

Its impossible to ride a Taurus....
Man its impossible to ride a Taurus in a city like Rajkot as they cant pass the RTO test, are not being registered b'coz of pollution norms, or cant get PUC certification. Even chakkra riders have shun them and moved on to "TOOFAN" in city which produces largest no of diesel engines in Asia!When in doubt...... Gas it!
