Not sure which route you take...but on my route(JP Nagar to Ecospace,Bellandur) volvos cost me almost double of what petrol costs me per day. ~90bucks in volvo(to and fro 45 each)...~40-45bucks of petrol(at current price or 71)...So I have no way out but to stick to bike....Back to HIBERNATE mode...

Thought of once...but at my timings the Rush is insane!!! Today at bellandur square(currently bottle-necked due to Fly-over construction) saw a Volvo whose doors couldn't be closed due to over-occupancy and people were sweating inside ...Originally posted by kantu View PostWhy dont you make use of passes ? P.S : how much for the pass?? 700something rght?...Back to HIBERNATE mode...

Aviation fuel now cheaper than Petrol..!
With the latest 5 rs. hike in petrol prices, aviation fuel now comes cheaper than petrol. Here in Kerala, petrol retails at around 67 rs a liter, whereas aviation fuel comes at 62 a liter. And fuel for smaller air crafts (up to 72 seats) is even cheaper at Rs. 50 per liter.
The Govt. is imposing no customs or excise duties on aviation fuel used by the elite class, whereas they collect 7.5% customs duty and around 8 rs per liter of excise duty on petrol, used by the common men.
India should probably be the only country in which such a condition exists.MOTORCYCLING IS AS MUCH ART AS IT IS SCIENCE

Aviation fuel is not good for the environment since it has additives like Tetra-Ethyl Lead (TEL) which pollutes the environment upon combustion.Originally posted by captain koli View Posti think we shud start usin aviation petrol in our bike's and cars i think with little modification to our cars and bikes we can use it
It has a much higher octane number which is not suited to our regular bike/car engines...
But the fact that aviation fuel costs lesser than normal gasoline completely beats me...this is just stupid !!Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

~10litres per mile is what a normal A320 aircraft consumes...Guess,we are better off not getting into aviation engineering here
Can we please stick to the topic here?

Live: India, business as it unfolds - Yahoo! India Finance
3.10 pm: Reliance Industries has rolled back petrol prices by Rs 2.50 per litre. Crude oil prices fell below $97 a barrel Tuesday in Asia extending a two-week fall amid investor concern slowing U.S. economic growth could undermine demand for crude. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Commodity expert Peter Hickson of UBS said Brent crude prices could head lower.
Some good news ...
EDIT: How much were they charging before ? I am in vadodara and i don't think there is any reliance pump running here. Correct me if i am wrong. My thoughts are subjected to personal experiences/internet articles. Please read my comment carefully before replying. :)
