Diesel might go down by Re. 1 per l, petrol 1.75.

Diesel price is likely to be cut by about Re 1 per litre, the first reduction in rates in over five years, while petrol price may be slashed by Rs 1.75.

State-owned oil firms are likely to announce reduction in rates, made possible because of softening in international oil rates, this evening, government and industry sources said.

Maybe offtopic.. But Any idea what's the RON of petrol in India..? If these guys are charging so much.. Hope the quality is also good... Atleast in major cites..

I think it will come upto 1 coz local taxes isn't levied on U.T.

91 RON, in all major cities.

btw, looks likes shell has shut shop in Hyderabad (temporarily, according to them).. went over to pick some oil and was surprised to find it closed.
Came back home and tired finding out the reason.. could only find this:

Its 91 in India!
95 RON petrol is also available at select pumps.
