Suzuki is going to step into 250cc segment, with the product to be launched revealed at Auto-expo.But the problem is.....the 250cc bike's sale might only be restricted to metropolitan cities only.

Intruder800,SV650/Gladius,GSR750 and Virus 1000 would perfectly fit that list. For India- naked bikes would rock, the first line of any big-bike feasibility.

      • I hope suzuki launches the 250cc bike in 2012. Having ridden the GS150R for about than 2.5 years with good amount of touring, I am very pleased with the kind of reliability Suzuki bikes possess. I was told by a very senior rider who has well above 1Lakh kms ridden, and who vouches for suzuki bikes, that the Suzuki bikes are like horses. Feed them well and they will run endless miles!

I can't see any other upgrade for me other than Suzuki 250cc. Even in GS150R, there are very logical things like both toe and heel shifter, full chain cover, 6th gear, clock and gear display on speedometer, that other bikes don't have. Even if the service centers are not as wide spread as say Bajaj or HH, the quality of bikes makes it up for that issue.

This Ad is similar to the Indian GS150R Ad. Focuses more on the models and scenery than the bike. I couldn't catch a good look the bike in it.
Hope suzuki uses a page from Honda's book in this regard. For product success, a good product along with good promotion is required.
Suzuki delivers on the 1st point but misses out on the second.
All bikes are not Hayabusas where sales happen mainly due to reputation.

The styling of the GW250 doesn't appeal that much.

Full chain cover is logical for GS150R because GS150R is not a sport commuter bike, but if you are looking for the same feature in 250CC, that's a recipe of disaster waiting to happen. Just imagine chain breaks, while you are pushing 250CC hard.

On the contrary, as you can see from the videos, this bike comes with an open chain.

I know, i saw that, but what i was pointing out was the logical point that don't count for 250CC.

The top whack cannot be confirmed right now, nothing about it has been said with confirmation and in the above mentioned article it is still in doubts as the person compares TMCBlog's and MCN's figures........well MCN hasn't tested GW250 yet.

But the 0-100kmph of GW250 sits between Ninja and CBR 250R,
                          Ninja250R-7.76secs.
                          GW250-8.04secs.
                          CBR250R-8.76secs.

This would reflect on the top speeds similarly.

Has anyone noted something, CBR250R and Ninja 250R has DOHC, GW250 has only SOHC.......that is a reason why it makes less power than Ninja despite being a inline twin.

                              • I think it's high time suzuki launch the gw250 in India.I'm eagerly awaiting the launch because it's a twin cylinder for almost the price of a cbr. They should'nt make the same mistake as they did with the gs150r.They launched it after pulsar was already the most popular model in the market,so much that there were no significant sales though it's a very good bike. They should launch it before the market is flooded with other options or they better just stick to commuter bikes in my opinion
