The reason these bikes dont get here is because of the huge investment that is required on the assembly plant.

There are 2 ways to get such bikes down. As CBU's or CKD/SKD's.

CBU's attract hefty duties and only 800cc and above (as per govt. norms) can be brought via this route. Thats why SBK's in India cost an arm, a leg, a kidney and a lung.

Bikes less than 800cc can be imported as CKD/SKD. Here parts are imported and assembled at a plant. So the investment is huge and numbers play a big part here. Companies would not spend crores on such investment to see only a few bikes selling. Our markets are opening up now... and steadily. We need to be happy that its finally happening. It wont be long before we get to the 600cc supersports.
Thank you for the clarification. Helped a lot. But any idea why Hyosung is charging a 30% premium over the UK pricing while N250R which is brought into India by roughly the same process is being sold at prices similar to those in the UK. Is this 30% premium, margin of Garware motors? Doesn't the sale price in UK already include dealer / company margins and warranty costs? Why (apart from the fact that they are the 1st ones to sell a 6xx cc bike in India) are they charging such a hefty premium? Or is the answer inside my question?

That said, the ZX6R and the CBR600RR, R6 and the GSX600R etc. are all pure track bred machines. Riding them like a touring machine will be very painful and uncomfortable. Thats why such bikes see very few miles in their years of ownership.

Give it some time. They'll get here

Look at distant poles in the video.. can you see that their approaching speed is also slow.
I didn't mention that it was official.. And, please remember that the white lines in India are usually only 5m long on the highways and not 10m as in foreign countries.. Anyways, its each person's view point.. Lets stand by our individuality and coexist..

even tho the video does make it seem like he's going much slower...

must agree... it does seem accurate.
