the flyover from Phoenix Mills to Kamala mills would be the only stretch to ride 120-150 ish.
or you can always have it "cleared"
cause a "traffic jam" at the Phoenix Mills end... for about 90 seconds or so...
n then zoom off.
way too risky... the flyover is the only safe option... cause you can be virtually 100% sure that nothing's going to get in your way.
Yea worli seaface is risky on the seaface side... on the road going towards town u have a clean stretch... Not many come town from surburbs at 5ish...
Also I was not talking about the Phoenix flyover... The one after that... It is a lott longerr...

Depending on the time of day ofcourse... But early evenings you find that flyover pretty clear.

that is what i was talking about, ride it and analyze it yourself. You all are bike experts in yourself....be your own critic.

Was it for meOriginally posted by d-man View PostAre we talking about Tulsi Pipe Road... ??? i have done some 125-130 odd Kmph on my Jawa 350 at some 3.00 in the morning. and that too 6-7 years back...
I cannot guarantee today's scene...
I dont know about road names as this was my 1st time in inner Gurgaon beyond Ambience.
The bike was doing around 130-140 at 4000 RPM
, wack the throttle open and she rushed with urgency, my first time on a big bike that too a test drive so i was more interested in enjoying, feeling vibes
and returning the bike safe than looking at speedo.
Its great that Hyosung is offering TD's, commendable, i still remember i didnt even get a TD for 220, they told me to run it on dyno.

Test ride of GT650R
Just came back from a TD of the GT 650R, after reading all the reviews here i wasnt much hopeful of how the bike would be because that vibrations part was always in my mind. Reached the Gurgaon showroom and Mohit bhai first gave me a pillion ride to make me comfortable with the bike as i have never sat on anything above Ninja 250R
I was a bit apprehensive about how comfy the bike would be, am 5"4 and 140 lbs and my legs were easily planted on the ground, the tank does get in the way but it wasnt much of an issue. The bike is indeed heavy, taking a u turn and pushing it back is a task and i need to work out more in the gym to get some strength in muscles
Started the bike and exhaust note was sweet, i personally liked it. The moment you engage 1st gear and go off, for a anyone like me who is graduation from the "Fastest Indian" and has also tested a Ninja 250r once, the bike has oodles of power, its not scary but tells you to keep the right wrist in control.
Now the vibrations - went till 7000 rpm in 2nd gear but the vibes werent much to become so much a cause of concern. This particular bike had all acceptable level of vibes, i had expected so much worse maybe thats why and past 6000 rpm the acceleration in busy Gurgaon roads was scary where i was focussed on pedestrians and bikers.
Straightline stability is awesome
, it sticks to the road, i didnt have much courage to lean but Mohit did once and the bike took it with aplomb, its heavy so taking into corners would be tough, once done it feels planted.
Braking was good - to be honest i didnt test this properly. The acceleration made me so serious i was sweating inside the helmet
and feeling the torque.
Conclusion:
Well i personally am glad that the GT650R has been launched, its a wonderful bike people. Do test it before making your decisions, dont go by magazines, everyone has different criterias and priorities. For 5.25 on road, its a really great bike considering i was going for Ninja 250R for 3 L +.
Would i buy it?
Definitely yes, only if dad is convinced. Am just 20 years old so it would be tough to convince parents, though they know i am particular about riding gear and riding safe. Going to states this month and once am back and parents agree i would say "Please book a white GT650R for me aghhh or maybe red/black" because both are pretty hot.
My friend had tagged along with me and had come to Gurgaon from GK 2, he has 0 knowledge of bikes but seeing the Gt650r he became excited and was grinning when i took off with people staring at you at every traffic light.
P.S: Clicked using N8's camera so average quality.

Surprisingly,Diya garware hasn't stated that they will be reducing the Bhp power for Indian customers.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostI fear that while detuning the engine performance it become a bit rough on the higher revs, happens with most of the imports when they are detuned for Indian regulation.

most likely you will...Originally posted by melroyal View PostRonit Motors informed me today, that the balance pymt of 5lacs needs to be paid by the end of this month .As the bikes will be going to the R.T.O for registration. Hopefully by mid June,I should receive my GT650R
true indeed....no doubt the vibes exist till 100Originally posted by MJ1984 View PostHey friend! I've ridden a 1198 s once. That too for a very short period of time. However, vibrations are there at lower RPM but once you reach 100 on speedo or beyond; it's gone. Please let me know if you have any different opinion. I would love to know facts about Dukes
1. It would be an exaggeration to say the GT650 would vibrate more than ninja @ 170-180 considering that Ninja would maxx out at that speed. For the fact only those who have ridden it at that speed can testify. If you may, trust me she does not and the exhausted feel that Ninja gives you at 170 is nowhere close to Gt650's at same speeds.Originally posted by antz.bin View Post.. even the aforementioned 3lac quarter litre moped in question does the same 170-180 on highways with far lesser vibes for 2 lac less.. then why waste the extra 2.5 lacs? Why not invest in the N250R instead?
but if somebody says it vibrates more than their existing RTRs and Pulsars.. I would think thrice(maybe more than thrice too) before investing 5+ lacs on it.
The fact that it is the ONLY bike in the 250-800 segment in India does not automatically make it the best bike to buy. It is your money... spend wisely.
P.S.: Have YOU ridden the bike?
2. I would definitely not call buying GT a waste, there is no second that it is of an individual discretion but still i would reiterate that it is a good deal and value for money.
3. talk about initial RPM and i would say a HH splendor would be far more smoother
but as you speed up and cross 100 all you feel is amazing power all at your disposal at a mere twist of throttle
4. The fact that this is the only bike in this segment, automatically makes it the best bike. U see, if you run alone in a race you will always be first irrespective of how bad a runner you are
5. P.S: i strongly recommend go for a test ride and then analyze
ride safe
Best of luck manOriginally posted by j4zb4 View Postyes... mostly by diwali... latest by year end... have to save for it..
