Its awesome that Triumph has launched the Daytona 675 in India at a really competitive price in india. However next year the 2013 Daytona 675 is gonna launch and it looks even more killer than the current model.

Are you F#4%ing kidding me? 11lakh for the Tiger? Is it not going to be built in India? On-road price in the REAL world is maybe 7lakh, and that's ABS and with various accessories. Pricing a bike up to make up for anticipated low sales is a double-edged sword: a high price is sure to drive away some buyers.

Looks like Triumph is here to change the equations or at-least rewrite it.

Great model selections from classics to cruisers to super-sports with a unique 3-cylinder engine. For one I am impressed even-tough I am a Japanese sympathizer . They have definitely done their homework and have made the right first steps.

The only thing now is the right sales and service backup.

Now I am interested in these 3 models in order
1. Street triple
2. Speed triple
3. Daytona

Triumph intends to open dealerships in delhi and then mumbai afaik.But elsewhere spares and service will remain a big issue.Won't it be awesome to ride a bonneville on our city streets and be a part of motorcycling history?And to make fun of people mistaking the bonneville to royal enfield

I do not think that post 2007 any of the major 600cc Supersports went in for any significant mechanical upgrades, except some changes in visual appeal which affects the bike in least functional ways.Ironically, no 600cc bike scooped the Masterbike title after that,the 1000cc just got better.

The only news in recent times and post 2007 is the launch of MV's own F3 which infact might become a revelation and only competitor to the Daytona 675's mastery.But still Daytona would win when it comes to Value For Money.



I do not agree, an above 5lac bike for daily use ??? Atleast I wont want my Street Triple to get some surgery on its seat, or a scratch by a cyclewala or a stupid sense of parking in the city's so called two wheeled parking zones or paying for fuel at the cost of road traffic caused by rowdy and lazy road users.

I have to say Street Triple is the more practical option for weekend fun on Indian roads and not at all for daily use if you reside in an Indian metropolitan.
It is the same condition everywhere.

Daytona 675 is meant for those who want to do short highway trips on weekend for a day.The best among Supersports only for the smooth roads.

Street Triple is for them,those who aspire to spend vacations and weekends on a bike, invading mountains and sea beaches and going over broken roads without breaking the back or cracking the full-covered fairing panels under the bike-A no nonsense standard naked bike.

Needless to say, both bikes have performance enough and enough and more than enough for Indian roads for the next 10-15 years.

And I am into the Street Triple category.

Ducati 848 Evo, now the Daytona 675. Only one missing the competetion is Suzuki GSXR - 750...Can't include F3 becasue of the price factor.

Moreover, it's hard to find any latest comparo between the above three. In the 600s, we have GSXR 600 as the 'Motorcycle-USA.com' winner for the supersports category. The 750 and 848 have are in sort of 'no questions asked' position. However, same can't be said about the Daytona as it is the closest one to the 600s.

But anyways, the Triumph is all set to play big in the Indian market. Let's see if Japenese can challenge them or not....

Does any one has any news about a under 400cc triumph for asian market. I m ready to cheat on my beloved st675 and go in for the this. Makes more sense in india.. here is a little indication

Rich biker boys are eyeing the Daytona for weekend rides and stuff. People like us who are gonna use our bikes like a work mules on weekdays and race replicas/tourers on weekends are eyeing the ST675. . Though it might be 5.75 ex showroom.
