The scoot in the above pic looks much like the old select. Even the wheels look alike. Aww man....those days of the original Vespa are gone.........I guess the 4T won't match the fun the 2T gave. I still remember the acceleration of Select II we had. It was pretty quick for its weight.....the new ones will be more fuel efficient I guess.......

They should've worked on it more, rather than simply fitting white, clear lens blinkers and all, its close to 15+ years since they launched Select, and in its second innings, it still looks the same !

But Star 200, Yes, from the pics I like it, though it is also almost the same NV Spl/old Star.

They were able to add some Vintage stuff kinda feeling to its looks, like the RE Classic series, but yes there's lot of room for improvement.

Anybody remember this below shown scooter from LML which they launched in the late 90's?
        The SUPREMO

They should've tried to launch this model as well!

            hey buddy
I think with a new FAST(Flexible Air Suction Technology) technology the new select will have the same better pickup than that of old 2T select. I have driven my friend's NV 4T (same engine as that of select 4t) and I MUST SAY THAT it was very smooth and was fun to ride.

I think LML can improve Star(same for select) by adding digital speedometer ,rear disc brakes,5 speed manual gearbox, under seat storage(just to increase storage capacity)and etc...................
As u have rightly said there's lot of room for improvement.

Yes, they can surely make and market it better.

Rear disc brake, won't it be an over kill ? .

To some extent it could be an overkill in the case of LML select but in case of LML Star 200 4T it is necessary.Because its 200 cc engine produces healthy power which can be easily controlled by rear disc brakes and if u r familier with disc brakes then there would not be any problem, in india large no. of people prefer drum brakes over disc brake but disc is far better than drum brakes except in some accidental conditions in which some riders who are not used to disc brakes became paniky and brake hard resulting in rear wheel lockup and skidding or slipping of bike.I personally don't have any problem with rear disc brakes

Yes, speaking about braking, it couldn't be an overkill, as you said, especially for 200 4T. But the resultant increase in price might make this scooter an overpriced one, but this could be added as optional fitment just like the case of XTREMEs/HUNKs.

I haven't ridden many bikes with rear discs, but didn't have any issues when I rode my friend's RTR with rear disk, thought it would lock the wheels when I applied rear alone, but I just felt a tad more biting than drum brake, but no locks.

I have said that in general some riders lock up the rear wheel with disc brakes in ACCIDENTAL CONDITIONS WHEN THEY PANIC but u r giving a normal example but its good that u r good with disc brakes and indeed they are better than drum brakes
And regarding the price rear disc brakes only increase the cost by 2000to3000 and iam fully agree with u that it should be provided as an optional fitment

Actually i think LML is try to increase their reputation here in north before they target the south market. But dont wory as I came across a news on net that LML
is going to launch star 2004t and other motorcycles in mid of 2012(unfortunately don't remember the sites name)and can't u wait for some time for star 200 afterthat they will surely head for south

Sorry,I was not able to log in for a loooooooooooong time due to some problems.
So, any update on lml star 200 4t or freedom relaunch ???????.Few minutes ago I checked their italian site and found some interesting, you may call it ugly or a different breed altogether, I.....I cant express a scooter with 2 head lights(may be its a head turner),but other 2 models are better.I think the star light is copy of old vespa pk(from back side) and its rear wheel is on right side unlike the usual left side and about freedom i am not able to find any update

                                Chech out the linky
