Well, what changes could a company possibly offer for a bare-basic 110 cc commuter, except for alloys, redesigned fairing and stickers? HH has been doing the same since the last 25+ years with the Splendors and LML did the same too!Originally posted by SatSon View Postthe same engine, shape and finally NAME?
Talking of the engine, we have reached a point where we can no longer extract any more out of existing technologies. 8bhp and 8NM is the standard output that a puny 100cc air-cooled, carburetted engine can offer. Now there are 2 options to choose from:
1. Offer better technology (FI) at a higher price
or 2. Play a gamble with a cheaper price and old technology.
Option 1 is definitely a riskier move from the manufacturer's point of view - if it fails, they will incur massive losses. So option 2 is what 99% of them stick to - which is why, the economy-commuter segment has remained constant and unaffected over the decades.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

re: LML Star 200 and Freedom Launch: xBhp News
Freedom was not flop actually. It sold in decent numbers and comparable with Bajaj 4s at that time. This was the time where people used to blindly go for splendour and market was/is dominated by Hero during that decade.
And it was better looking of the lot after Energy.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2008 - Yamaha YZF R15
2009 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
2013 - KTM 390 Duke
2017 - Yamaha FZ25

+1 for the Energy,in Emerald Green! And yes, the Graptor was one of my personal favorites and existed in the list if my dream bikes for a considerable amount of time before the "definitely male" Pulsars eliminated the Graptors from the markets completely.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostI liked the energy.. but not the Adreno.. yuck

Graptor was a nice looking bike but couldnt keep up in sales.. only if people were not looking for mileage during those period.. besides lml was not known for reliability.. besides people didnt wanna take risk.. but personally i loved energy amd graptor.. got many change ride energy but not the graptor..Originally posted by bbsrailfan View Post+1 for the Energy,in Emerald Green! re: LML Star 200 and Freedom Launch: xBhp News
Its not about technology, atleast they could've given it a new name and looks, to keep up with the 100-110 cc bikes like Disco 100T, Dream Yuga, Passion Pro etc.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostWell, what changes could a company possibly offer for a bare-basic 110 cc commuter, except for alloys, redesigned fairing and stickers? Splendor brand name is so popular and proven and still top seller in market, so no point in comparison.
Also, when LML relaunches NV Spl, there is a point - NV Spl was LML's top seller ever(I owned one back in 2000's) and got some retro value.
But Freedom - it sold just for around an year or so and then LML itself had been wound up.

And it was better looking of the lot after Energy.Freedom was not that flop in my city too, only because the LML dealer in our city was very good in marketing, he was giving good exchange bonus to Splendor/Passion/Caliber/Boxer owners who came for exchanging Freedom.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostI am not sure if it was a super flop or flop..
