    I am sorry if it offend you but could you explain how does this feature helps? Underseat exhausts are few of the beautiful features I look into a superbike but sad to see manufacturers' deviation from it.

      well it helps keep the COG low. This inturn would result in better handling. The underseats are also know to cause discomfort as they heat up the seats.

                  ^^ LOL you said it bro...Hope they see the pic. Technically speaking, the underseat exhaust has disadvantage over the otherwise ones but this is kinda trademakk design which defines the Bike as a special one. deviating in such a way from it rises questions in the minds of fans. Personally I like the round headlights of the Street and Speed Triples but not the current polygonal ones.
                  I even hate to think a R1 or a CBR600RR or MV Agusta F4 without underseat exhaust but can't imagine them on a ZX10R, GSX or R6, ZMR or anything else either.

                        Underseat exhausts no doubt give a very unique feel to the motorcycle, but they have to be more carefully designed as they might spoil the riding experience by transferring too much heat to the rider's thighs or hips. R1's biggest criticism is its underseat exhausts, they not only fry the pillion's butts, but also transfer good amount of heat to the rider's hips. I have read this in most reviews, not suitable in moderate to hot climate. There are other motorcycles as well with underseat exhausts, but R1's exhaust are most uncomfortably placed. Any R1 (latest model) owners here can confirm this?

                        The new Daytona is in a testing phase, so even the most clear spy shots won't really tell how beautiful the motorcycle could actually be, due to pretty basic finish to the body panels. But in the videos posted earlier, I really like the overall rider stance and the motorcycle's looks than the current version.

                            i guess i was reading the old post... just in case i would still like to get my doubt clear...
                            The diablo red daytona 675 with under seat exhaust is 2012 model that is launching in India or its the new model with the side exhaust ??

                              @juscallmelarry: The new Daytona with side exhaust is in testing phase. It's not launched anywhere yet. It's going to be the 2013 model. So if we get the Daytone this year, we'll get the current version with the underseat exhaust.
