  • Azharuddins son passed away after being injured in a road accident!

Initially there were reports that he had died however latest updates is that he is injured.

I was in Hyderabad last week and it is disheartening to see how the young generation rides without helmets. I was on my Ninja and every one wanted to showoff by cutting my path.

It is a shame that the government does not have the balls to enforce the "No Riding without Helmet Rule".

      sad

really sad incident. from first media reports it seems another case of lack of training for Superbike. Reminds me of DND case happened few years back.

Its time to strict the DL issuing rules and education on SBK's .

His nephew or niece died. His son is battling for life. Looked like R1 or Blade. Black colour. It was in a very bad shape. May he recover quickly.

But can't understand one thing. Ok, he belongs to an affluent family & has the economic cabability of getting sn SBK but handing over sn SBK to a 19yr old lad doesn't seem to be a good decision in my opnion. The person should be made to understand the HUGE power these bikes carry & a slight mistake can go very horrible.

Sad. People just don't realise the importance of riding gear. This behaviour will cost others a lot.
A stepped licensing system should be put in place.

He was riding gsx1000 with his nephew as pillon who is 16 yrs old.it happened on extra-wide outer ring road of hyderabad.i still couldnt understand how it has happened because it is a 10 lane road(ya 10lane!!!)there arent any tight corners too!!!its just mere lack of control over bike i would say

he was wearing an ARAI helmet at that the time of accident, still he got head injuries!!!!

Wearing riding gear all the time is not the only responsibility of a biker, rather having control on the bike is the most important thing. One should know the capability of the bike and should be familiar with it.

                  ^^+1 to that.

its not just about riding gear, its about knowing your capabilities and limits.
And frankly I dont think a 19year old is mature enough to be riding a 1000cc bike.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a Ride!' -Hunter S. Thompson

jumping to conclusions?? not every 19 yr old is a lousy rider. maybe he got the adrenaling levels too high and then he dropped low....

                    eitherways, hope he recovers quickly

Simple logic he was without gear and if you need the news properly he suffered chest injuries so this implies how important is chest guard.

He was riding an GX1000 and riding with only a helmet and no other protective gear, on the Outer Ring Road, where two-three wheelers are actually banned. Today's paper did show a photo from his mobile, where he was wearing a helmet. He apparently wanted to test speeds of 200+ on the bike when he lost control. He's got injuries on his chest and kidneys. Not sure about other fractures and stuff. The front of the bike was totalled, as per pictures from the newspaper.

Ace super biker Gaurav Gill calls for stricter licencing laws
Ajit Vijaykumar New Delhi, September 12, 2011 | UPDATED 11:02

The tragic accident involving Mohammad Azharuddin's son Ayazuddin in Hyderabad has once again highlighted how easy it is to hit the road with a super bike in India.

Super bikes are a totally different class of automobiles which, unlike a top-end car, need special training and skills on the part of the riders.

Gaurav Gill, international car rally driver who was recently adjudged the best rally driver in Asia, has been an avid super biker for years now and underlined the dangers of riding such a powerful machine.

"The thing about super bikes is that they are supposed to go at 300kmph. Absolutely anyone can do that. However, the skill is not in going fast but knowing how to stop in time. And that is where all accidents happen," Gill said.

"A super bike is a pocket rocket. If you don't know how to stop the bike in time or manoeuvre it, everything ends in the blink of an eye." Gill said the only way one can avoid such incidents is by controlling the licences for such super bikes. "Nowadays anyone can straightaway buy a 1,200-cc bike to show off to his or her friends," he said.

A young life snuffed out and another battling on the edge of death. A very sad moment this. Death is tragic and untimely deaths all the more so. Let us pray the young man recovers from his injuries.

Note: Please do not get into needless speculation about the cause of the crash and in the process be judgmental about the dead and the injured. Let the details surface before getting into discussions aimed at learning from this rider's mistakes. On such powerful bikes even single vehicle incidents can result in fatalities vis a vis a tank slapper, a power slide gone wrong, panic braking gone wrong for a dog that surfaced and later vanished or even an engine seizure at high speed.

It is true that riding gear saves lives but usually no amount of riding gear can save you from a crash at such high speeds on public roads with their zero run-off areas, hard armco barriers, concrete lane dividers and mixed traffic. As a rider your prime duty is to stay in control of your vehicle at all times.
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...

"The duo were on their way back from Shamshabad to Gachibowli when Ayaz, who was reportedly going at full speed, lost control and hit the divider."
He had received this bike this Eid as a gift and looks like he lost control during the adrenaline rush. Another example why one shouldn't ride a superbike with proper practice.
I hope he recovers from his injuries.
