Remember, a SBK feels stable at 100kph but a CT100 at 100 is at the very limt. So, if we want to give lessons, it should not only be confined to the riches and sbk owners. It should be given to one and all. Every life is valuable.

Other thing is, I go about educating each and everyone in my batch about the importance of a good ISI approved helmet, forget high-speeds or riding gears; only the basic riding gear i.e a helmet. But, do they listen?

You can go anywhere, people suffer from ego-problems or their nonsensical beliefs on fortune/destiny. They just won't listen. Some might but most of them won't. Give as many lectures on s.............

So, if you want every SBK owner to behave properly on public roads and minimize the chances of road-accidents, you would have to run behind each of them daily like a sales person, preaching them about the values of their and others lives. That's too much of an ask, don't you think?
You're right that every life is valuable. But, Sbk owners are more interested in maintaining safety of their vehicle due to the costs involved. So, they will show interest.
The common CT100 owner will not take me seriously, because he's been riding commuters for long now. Although this is exactly what I planned for Ajmer after my fracture-accident, but I'm scared because I'm alone here.

I tried educating people about helmets, and most of them ignored me like I'm freak. But I'm happy because I made 2-3 friends wear a helmet. And one Apache guy thanks me because my recommended habit of wearing helmet saved his life once.

Don't run behind them like salesmen. That would be "Push" factor which never/ seldom works. Read my reply to antz.bin below to understand "Pull" factors.

@ antz.bin: Bro, I understand that. What you can do is get some Pune Xbhp members who have been Sbk owners for some years now, and tell them to share the tips in the future seminars.
Remember, if you go alone, no one will take you seriously. Go with a group, all wearing the common Xbhp T-shirts. Draft and present your plan seriously. Approach the dealers professionally and they will take notice.

"Pull" the Sbk owners by persuading dealers to offer minor discounts/ LS2/ Vega helmets as Open/ Surprise Gifts, to owners who attend your training. Yes, you'll have to get your dealer's co-operation by some persuasion, but if your intentions are good, they will understand it. Show them how Ayazuddin's news, and ask him he wants anyone else to suffer the same fate?

Then on dealer's agreement, every Sunday you can have a 1 hour session on your experiences. Trust me, Sbk owners are a different breed compared to 100cc customers. Give them printouts as a summary of what you spoke.

Go step by step in a planned manner. And believe me guys, you would be happy that you made a difference. If you need any help online, I'm ready for it. Just PM me...

SIAM is also responsible for this incidence. They and their stupid rules of no importing of bikes under 800CC as CBU to protect the Indian motorcycle makers from competition of well established manufacturers. If those rules did not exists then one would have easily imported a 600CC sportbikes that are easy to handle and dont have overwhelming power. Learn from this SIAM or your children will be next to die in such accidents.

            May he RIP.

A kind request: Please refrain from trampling on an expired soul by ranting about safety and precautions that should have been taken. As a matter of fact, we do not know the condition of the particular patch of road or even his exact speed when the incident took place.

Suggestion and precautions, well-meaning it may be, belong to another thread.

This is a sincere request to use this thread to only offer condolences.
