I was desperately waiting for the ninja bookings to start but I did'nt liked the looks of 2012 model(side profile is so ugly)...I guess I will wait for auto expo to anticipate the future of biking in India.Till then r15 v2 will do just fine

Going by what PTR have said 2012 N650 should be available in Indian market once the booking re open again next year.

My friend I would disagree, the bike looks awesome from every angle & it has Ninja supersport design styling.

When the 2011 Ninja 650R was launched, a lot of people had doubts if it was really a Ninja with a 'R'. The 2012 model lives up to that name! (atleast in the looks department)

I think this now has the ammunition to kill the GT650r...

Especially the people on the fence will now definitely be swayed towards the Ninja...

We at PTR feel that there is one bike which isn't getting as much attention as it should. Since years real bikers in India have been thirsty and complaining that superbikes were pointless not only due to their astronomical price tags but also because of their running expenses. Bajaj along with Kawasaki made a fantastic attempt to quench this thirst by launching the Ninja250R in year 2009. It is year 2011 and the two manufacturers seem to be loving this game. "Give the market that what it really needs ". This Indo-Japanese duo is bracing itself for an impact with the titans by not adopting the usual "top-down" approach that other manufacturers (who have already launched their flagship 1000cc models) are adhering to. Bike testing is a lot of fun and we don't feel like stopping now that we have begun with it. It is time we find out if the Ninja 650R can be the door that leads an average performance deprived Indian biker into the world of power motorcycling in India. It will be a while until we test the bike exhaustively but we promise to bring you the review by the time the bookings for the Ninja 650R re-open (yes the bookings for this bike are closed for now) and when they do re-open the upgraded 2012 bike is what will be available to the Indian consumers. A sneak peek at the 2012 Ninja650R which is almost unseen until now can be found in the album titled "2012 Ninja 650R"

he he and call it irony but the 'r' monicker has been dropped.

                        Fellows Please advise,

I have already booked the N650R months ago and waiting for the delivery by Feb-March 2012.

My Brain is washed by this article. Contacted the PBK and they have no clue about this.

I would like this one over the old one. Is it possible to switch over? 1st of all is it launching in India?

Also can anyone predict the appox cost here in India

You want an environmentally tuned model? Anyways, your choice. After all, plus points are also many for this bike...

Without special efforts, its not possible to switch over bookings for one model to another, as your booking initiates a process of parts delivery, assembly, etc. which ends with your delivery.
Secondly, I'm 95% sure that 2012 model should be launched in India sooner or a bit later, because the company will stop producing the old model...

As for your currently booked bike, you'll have enough buyers, don't you worry. Transfer your 2011 Ninja 650r's booking to another individual using PBK's help and you would not need to sacrifice the Rs. 10,000 too if the person pays in full.\
Probikings maintain a big database of people who called them with enquiry about Ninja. Even my dad gave his number to the Bajaj Probiking, Jaipur. (still expecting a reply though )

Remember, this 2012 bike has a lesser mileage (17 vs 20.8), more weight and a strange headlight & swingarm design compared to 2011 model. So, do evaluate your choices before you make them. Good luck.

Reduced price, I dont think so as it is $300more costlier than 2011 model.
