I agree..would have loved XBHP covering the launch and testing the Thunderbird like they did with the Duke & 200NS. BTW, do we have a Classic 500 test report on XBHP? I couldn't find it.Originally posted by abhiiceman View PostStrength is measured in pounds.

B/w Thunderbird 350 and 500, the only difference is the Engine, besides that everything is the same.Originally posted by LazyRyder View PostThey almost took ages to launch the bike and would take equal amount of time launch the webpage. From what I saw in flesh, the 350 has the same features as the 500 with rear disc etc.

check the amazing pics of the new TB500. Royal enfiled did improve a lot in fit and finish areas. Now only if XBHP has the first ride details we can know if the engine and transmission areas also improved similarly.

few things i noticed-
1) A projector headlamp should give good illumination, but is it a bi-xenon kind of light i.e. both high beam and dipper through same projector or like P220 where the projector is either for high beam only or low beam only. and the other one is by a halogen. I am asking thin because i can see a bulb and reflector in upper portion of headlight, and that bulb is not a pilot light kind of small bulb. so anybody know exactly how things are..??
2) the rear-view mirrors look a bit awkward. just look closely.
3) "thunderbird 500" written on side panels should be in better font.
4) what is the make/brand of disc brakes used..?
5) Zigwheels said, 45 KMPL...can it be true..??
6) it has little bit better handling & ride quality, with some tweaks here and there.
7) wheelbase is shorter by 20 MM, overall height is reduced by 5 MM and ground clearance has increased by 5 MM.
8) 195 kgs.
9) little less vibrations.
10) 20 Litre fuel tank.
11) zigwheels went upto 140 KMPH on speedo.
a proper ride report by XBHP was expected. anyway, this is it.
one thing i always wondered, the tyre tread pattern should not be similar to street bikes, same tread pattern for everything from pulsars to bullet. better to upgrade to some cruiser type tyres...may be pirelli, if available in india.Last edited by princesirohi; 10-11-2012, 10:19 PM.

I was just thinking, doesn't that spoke wheel will cause an issue to rear Disc Brake as most of weight would be on back side??
Spoke wheel are prone to get misaligned frequently when banged on potholes. Won't this misalignment cause a disc functioning issue?? brake pads and Disc resistance would increase if slight misalignment takes place. And even tyres are not that broad that would support the spoke. IN Triump or Harley tyres are broader and spokes are smaller so the weight and strength of spoke respect to misalignment is less!! But here Tyre is not that broader and spokes are also bigger in length!!
RE bikes are tend to have rims and spoke aligned in every 2-3 months.
