this is my temporary crash-guard until the correct fitting ones come into market...as its not made for new TB the fitting abit comes in between while changing gears & putting up brakes...will wait for the made for TB crash-guard then will go for the matte finish...

im new to these things and i dont know how to start a new thread nor i know how to maintain it or what to write over there after i open any ownership thread...
will post the headlight focus pics soon...until then just posting few pics taken today early morning when i went for a mileage check ride...my rear disk is abit tight and not allowing my rear wheel to move freely its making abit of sound something like a rubbery thing is being holding the disk...may be the pads are not upto mark...the last time 3days back went for rear disk brake work at RE SS when my rear disk was making a loud scraping sound they removed the whole wheel opened the pads of disk brake and brushed them abit with an iron foil...dont know what he brushed up i was looking them from a far distance...after that it was all ok but today suddenly the disk has been making some different sound & when i looked into it i feel the pads are holding the disk...anyway with all this trouble my vehicle is giving me a mileage of 29.5kms/l in city driving conditions...when i told this thing to my dad who used 5 RE vehicles from past 25years including uce engines...he told me the least ever he got on his 2011 cl350 was 35 even on his first 100kms he got 35 later it improved to 38...anyway now hez a proud Harley Owner but he still craves for RE-the reason for which he cant explain...
i think i should go for change of pads for rear disk brake....but they say the spare parts of new TB350 hasnt arrived yet & it may take another month or two....
my question : what should i do now about the rear disk brake?what that sound must be off?should i be worried or can get it done after the spare parts arrive ?

            • Royal Enfield unveils the Thunderbird 500 at the 11th Auto Expo 2012

Took a TD yesterday of the new Thunderbird 500. There was very very less vibration, actually it was like I was rising a pulsar. Couple of things that stood out for me compared to my CL500 were.

Amazing engine smoothness, fell in love with it
              No vibration
              Very comfortable rider seat
              Pick-up same

But have the others also felt the engine smoothness.

IMHO I like the sound of the exhaust, I know most of the RE fans wouldn't agree with me.

Looks good.. Did you also take a photo when you fitted the air fly crash guard? Curious to know how that would look..

                    • help

guyz although i have booked TB500.because i loved the torque.but my major riding would be office commute(Solo)-20kms/day.as of now will not be doing any touring ever.because of which thinking of shifting booking to TB350.have only test driven TB500.so dont know whether both will have the same fun factor for city riding.
is TB 500 only for city driving an overkill?(price diff is 40k but i m willing to shell out if its more fun and lesser headache in terms of maint.)
please advice how much average to expect from both bikes?
I am 5'7,75 kgs.this will be my first RE ,i currently own a uni
                      please advice.

                          • Today, I visited Royal Enfield Brand Store at Besant Nagar, Chennai, test-rode a Thunder Bird 500 and booked it in Twilight Black [bluish black] by paying Rs 5,000 in cash. The on-road price in Chennai is Rs 1.78 lakh with a waiting period of 4 months.

Just stumbled upon this site. They have apparently started a prebooking/ pre registration for Cafe Racer.
Upon registration I also got this mail
Thank you for your interest in the 2013 Royal Enfield Cafe Racer. A
sales associate with Royal Enfield Fort Worth will contact you
                              shortly.
Any idea if this is true ? Will RE launch Cafe Racer next year ?
