. End of the day you are not just happy but just fall in love with it, that it is difficult to part with it, atleast for most of us. On the other side HD is my dream motocycle, and I will deft get one in near future.

RE never tried to be a HD atleast till now, having said that I also agree RE is slowly moving away from its legacy. RE never has been up to date in terms of tech or design, but thats part of RE's legacyOriginally posted by somen1984 View Post

These words are from lover's heart nothing else!! RE should update their design with classic style so that people can have better faith in them, But currently 350 or 500 both can't cross 150kmph, don't have confidence to ride etc!!!Originally posted by LazyRyder View PostRE never tried to be a HD atleast till now, having said that I also agree RE is slowly moving away from its legacy. The day RE improves in tech and Design for speed and stability it will be conquering the heavy bike segments!!
But it's our people who are buying RE and making them think there is no problem, people still love them.
Infact i will suggest each and every RE lover not buy RE bikes today so that RE takes some serious steps towards production and relaibility along with upgrades etc!! Then only RE will think to upgrade!!

I'm comparing apples to oranges here but TB500 seems to deliver an economy of 23-25 according to reviews. HD 883 Evolution engine (in Iron, Superlow, etc) delivers 19-23 (checked from Fuelly.com), has much higher top speed and nearly double the power. And its much more reliable. Sorry for OT post, but I think this comparison justifies Somen's choice. HD is planning to locally manufacture (and not just assemble from CKD) bikes here in a few years' time. If HD decides to attack RE with a 500cc V-twin cruiser...... (this sentence needs no completion)
PS: IMHO the best RE is still Electra Twinspark 350.

ROFL ...lol....This is the love towards RE i guess!!
Nope my friend, HD is HD infact legacy would be with HD not RE. RE is trying to be HD but it lacks in many fronts!!
BUt still people are loving RE same as me, the only thing puts me off his it's Tech and design!!Currently without a vehicle. Uber App and Bangalore Metro serving all my travel needs.

please compare on road price of both bikes also....and i would like to inform you that my brother is using classic 500 from past 1 and a half year and he is continuously getting mileage of 30-32 regularly...if you are talking about local assembly then i guess they can save 30% duty by making these bikes here in India which means HD will still cost you 4.5 lacs on road....Originally posted by MHG View PostI'm comparing apples to oranges here but TB500 seems to deliver an economy of 23-25 according to reviews. Since top speed of TB500 doesnt justify extra 40k and 150cc TB350 would be better. You can save 40k to buy some accessories for bike and yourself(helmet + gloves etc)Originally posted by vinaymonu25 View PostTHUNDERBIRD 350 vs THUNDERBIRD 500 can any one tell me which makes more sense to buy ?
besides with 350cc you can add extra 100kms range with a tankfull.site:xbhp.com keyword -> Google this to dig up stuff in xbhp faster

People had similar thoughts when Classic was launched in 350 ad 500, finally it is perspective and yes of course in terms of savings(including running cost), definitely 350 makes sense since it has all the features of the 500.Originally posted by vinaymonu25 View Postchill guys this is no RE vs HD thread.....i have both though in my family...and i would say better we not compare them....especially not here please.

It is even better without the FI, unless they give the Closed-loop ones in India.Originally posted by Boom S View Postexcept FI.
As far as I know there is no added features, only the engine spec differs, and that's why I said it is perspectiveOriginally posted by Rahul.Gvli View PostIt's not just about the features but VFM. All those added features are not worth speding 40K extra premium. Isn't it ?

The difference cannot be felt on paper-it can surely feel on pockets.....
I think there is one more place we can feel the difference besides Road....... and that happens to be our pockets not for the 40k premium but for each and every time we refuel it.... Come on I think a minor jump from 350 to 500 doesn't make a difference at that given difference of mileage in real City driving conditions.... If it would have around 700-800cc it would have made sense.... But yes it does give some extra power which you will utilise very rarely if you're not a hardcore rider. ... What I'm trying to say is 500 doesn't make sense for ppl who ride there vehicle mostly in cities and very rarely go for longer trips....Any arguments to change my thoughts are most welcome.New Duke 390 my2017... finally
