Stealing?? With 47% shares and making bikes for them to import I don't think you should call it stealing!!

As for TVS, ther might be two reasons for this urgent upgrade.
    1. Hearing every now and then about the vibes and the bike being a little dated now.
    2. With the NS coming out soon, bajaj has managed to poke everyone's eyes. Thus the urgent upgrade.

Appreciate the idea of upgrading but stickies and new shroud cooling is not a commendable upgrade. LC engines & rear mono shocks being the current trend in this class of bikes, I don't understand why TVS is overseeing these. Maybe they are a little afraid to take risks.

well, when we have a vibrator people complain, when we have a smoother bike people complain. May be coz of the smoothness you dont feel the acceleration. In the end I feel people just need some excuses for not buying the bike.

Oh, ok. Same as the 180 then. I thought they went to 120 or something.

So the changes is not just cosmetic. There seems to be changes in the gear ratios as well.. but looks like the RTR character is lost in the ride feel as well (it had already lost it in the looks dept.)

    What's the new tyre size?

Took a test ride few days ago. Things i observed:
    1) The vibes are gone(smoother engine).
    2) gear ratios are taller.
    3) acceleration weakened. No more 0-60 in <5sec.
    4) top end might be bettered(i guess).
    5) doesn't feel like riding rtr. Feels more like cbz xtreme.
    6) looks ugly. The stickers and tank scoops looks amatuerish. The 'eyes'(not the whole headlamp), the console and the clip-on base-plate looked nice though.
    7) bigger rear tyre.
    8) almost similar yet a bit softer exhaust note.
    9) felt a little bit heavier.
    10) lower pillion seat(easy to get on and off but hampers the aggressive looks).

Maybe it was, but what a restyling job..!! It made a funny looking bike (in my eyes) to a gorgeous/desirable (in my eyes) one.

When the new R15 came, people were crying about it being just a cosmetic upgrade but all those upgrades were deeply researched and then realised. If the upgrades on the r15 were cosmetic, what should we call this cosmetic downgrades?

Its a good Cosmetic Change,,,, Really inspiring Bikini Fairing
But apart from that few minor changes,,, just a changeover which TVS is giving for this year.,
We cannot expect big things from TVS, they do not have Big Contracts like Bajaj to give big changeovers, Neither they are Like Honda and Yamaha which has World class Reputations.
TVS has a Very waste Racing Heritage, so TVS will do, but just like a Government organisation they will do it slowly,, But the Output will be standard.
This Apache is just a Refresh for the year, Lets keep waiting...

in the making of the 2012 rtr video i saw that a orange light goes off on the tacho everytime the bike hits the rev limiter, so i figured it was a gear shift indicator....

I am NOT spending my hard earned money on this! will just have to wait to get the second Apache in the garage... was eagerly waiting for this only to be bitterly disappointed. They should definitely have done something for better power or handling....
