Well bro , we have similar situation . This is also my first bike and i wanted to buy the best(also in reasonable price) . At first i also had dilemma between twister and discover 125 st . My friends say twister but my heart says discover . Then i had views from many people . But finally decided discover . in terms of FE , maybe twister has slighter edge as discover has more power.
And in case if you are very confused on what to buy . choose what your heart says.

bro let's wait for the price disclosure and the first proper impression on xbhp itself. hope bajaj would make this bike available to all dealers in the nation.

bro, i said 60,000 on-road and not ex-showroom, plz read my post again. and i saw it as sai service near balgandharv. other pune members can visit the showroom to verify.

bro could you please upload some pictures of it? Whether could you confirm whether the bike is going to be available in west Bengal or not by asking those showroom guyz?

Profit comes with mas selling. No one can denie that CBZ market was broken by P150 becuase it was same power and better mileage at lesser cost than CBZ. People here comprimised on looks. CBZ classic had anytime better looks than P150 of any era!!

Later Yamaha broke the market of P150 with FZ. People here buied it becuase of better handling and looks. But mileage was beaten!!

Yamaha sells the costliest bike today in india under 150 segment. can you imagine people paying 1.3L for 150cc???? Just becuase of it's feature and killer looks.

But still you won't see the best bikes on road often, CBR, R15,Ninja Duke etc. becuase of cost fator. but ain't they best bikes today ??

Mass seeling comes only with less cost or average/L pterol.

Profit comes with people buying the product. But to sustain a better competition@ own terms is what is called real engineering.

Still it's your choice to buy what you like. Mileage is with any 100cc bike. but today features are more important in less price which overides mileage req by few kms.

Ufff.. what's your point? people get bikes as per their requirement, naturally budget limits their choice!

CBZ classic was outgunned by Pulsar, you might think CBZ still looks best, but there were lot of others who didn't think so! that's what kicked CBZ out of market, it simply couldn't keep up with Pulsars! (150/180) Agreed FZ handles well, but the average 150cc buyer is looking for something more in his bike, say for example a useable pillion seat, which FZ doesn't have! Looks alone can't influence buyer's decision, they can tilt the decision only if looks are main requirement or if other requirements are reasonably satisfied.

Anyways, this is way OT in this thread.. looking at the various reviews of Discover 125ST, Bajaj sure seems to have a winner in their hands. As always they are going to up the ante in 125cc segment now.

Is it only me or somebody else also feels that this looks somewhat like a Karizma from this angle. At least the headlamp really does.

the review gives it a thumbs up. no doubt it is a good bike but 60000 on road in pune is a bit too much for a 125 CC Commuter.
so the old line up of discover also stays for a while just like pulsar.

Well shine/stunner cost more than 60k, in fact they are costlier than p135ls.

@rafirashi, gear pattern seems to be 1 down 4 up from one of the pics in motoroids review.

Well bro lets have a statistics of other bikes
Honda CB Shine - Rs 61,700 ( doesnt have mono suspension and has less power)
Honda CBF Stunner - Rs 63,900 ( doesnt have the features which 125 st provides)
Bajaj Discover 125 - Rs 59,000 ( obviously u wont such a upgraded bike with just a raise oof 100 bucks)

Yamaha Gladiator SS 125 - Rs 56,000 ( less power , no mono suspension )

I think by considering these facts , i believe 125 ST has given more than its price..

Is Discover 125cc selling @59k, I doubt that, last I checked it was atleast 5k less than Shine.
