A rather good bhp/lit mark hit by BAL
I think lockhrt999 tried to make a point in how efficient this little engine was, but wasn't sure to carry on with the correct math.Originally posted by SKSy_Biker View PostThat has to be the most hilarious joke or the worst math ever on xbhp!

Still, BAL has to be commended on getting a highly efficient engine (in pure thermal efficiency), with a near 118 PS / lit, specific output. Compare that to the more modern engines of big car makers, they're nearly there in upping the ante on engine design & efficient construction.
I haven't compared to top bike makers like the Japanese Big 4 or European biggies as they are already developing engines in excess of 200 to 240 bhp / lit of specific output. Still, speaks a lot about BAL's design & engineering, doesn't it?Live life, a quarter-mile at a time!

You have essentially taken the same calculations but divided both sides by 12... I don't know the details about bhp/ltr but there is some point missing...Originally posted by SKSy_Biker View PostThat has to be the most hilarious joke or the worst math ever on xbhp!

Buddy get your facts right. Do google what bhp/liter really means. In a world where superbike manufacturing companies are striving to get to 200bhp/liter you have managed to place hamara Bajaj at 1363 bhp/liter.
Why didn't you consider the fuel tank size? The figures quoted above have to be divided by the tank capacity (thats about 12 liters). So lets do some math:
Multiplying and dividing these numbers:
Duke200 > (25 x 30)/12 = 62.5 bhp per liter square
P200ns > (23.5 x 58)/12 = 113.5833333333333 bhp per liter square
Hmm.. still the P200 seems to be ahead. I wonder what the reason is?
I don't think I have to explain the real reason now.. do I?

Disclaimer: Being a mod I should have been more responsible. I couldn't let go of this gem. Sorry
psst: The KTM tank is 10 litres... not 12... Also I highly doubt 200NS' 58 kmpl... I would hold it close to 45..."stay hungry, stay foolish."
To those who have attitude... My middle finger salutes you...!

Ya SkSy.... Duke's TC is 10 liter and NS's is 12 liters... so
25*30/10 is 75..! So 75 vs 113..

Looks like Bajaj is pitting P200NS from Splendor to CBR250, with parameters like FE, power, features, plugs etc !!Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostFI vs Triple Spark
Lets do some math.
There are two general factors comes into play with these two parts, viz Performance and efficiency.
One has unit BHP and the other has BHP per liter (Can be calculated from KMPL).
Same cylinder with same piston so no unfair business.
performance :
Duke 200 > 25 BHP
P200ns > 23.5
efficiency :
Duke200 > officially 30 KMPL.
P200ns > officially 58 KMPL.
Multiplying those two numbers.
Duke200 > 25 x 30 = 750
P200ns > 23.5 x 58 = 1363
750 < 1363.
FI < Triple Spark Plug.
Triple spark plug outpaces FI by ((1363-750)/750 x 100) = 81% (=Almost double).
I'm out of my depths, Is there any indian bike comes close to 1363?
------
We want to look at the obvious. Nothing wrong about that. We see what we choose to see.
Every one praises Toyota Prius for being the most eco friendly car but at the end of the day Merc S-class with 4x powerful big hunky V12 (or V8 don't remember exactly)engine runs away with the most eco friendly car award.
Numbers can be an eye opener some times.

Sorry to disappoint.., But in my city (kolkata), one of the Bhpian, aka Rahul Barik, had seen 200 NS twice almost a week ago. He even sat on a bike which was being ridden by a Bajaj Engineer on 4th of June.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostGood news, So we can start expect to seen a 200ns in Delhi...waiting ...waiting...waiting...for that moment...
However, the Probiking Showroom @ kolkata are telling that the bike is expected by end July to mid August, where-as the other dealers are saying that the bike might be available by end of this month!!
So you see, that seeing a bike around does'nt confirm it to be launching any time soon.
But again since you are staying in Delhi, can expect the bike earlier than rest of the major cities.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"
