I have told them I was keen on booking the Ninja 650 and the replies I have got from them are; the bike has not been launched, they have no information about when booking will begin etc.

Now, I've just read a comment where someone mentioned that bookings for Mumbai have closed!

This is so unprofessional on the part of Bajaj! I have even been in contact with the manager of KTM South Mumbai and he claims they have no information about the bike!

This is very disappointing, I'm totally put off by this!! :/

BTW I own a duke 200 purchased from KTM South Mumbai.
AFAIK, there are only 2 showrooms in Mumbai viz., Kanjurmarg & Vashi.
You must have inquired at normal Bajaj showroom I guess. I had inquired about the bike and I had got a sms once they started booking.

                    • Delivery?

Has anyone else heard about their bike delivery date's? In Bangalore I think the coming Saturday lucky six people will be able to buy the bike and hopefully the deliveries will follow soon after. Would not be cool if they have to wait another month to get the bikes

Also hope they get a display bike in Bangalore ... I really wanna see it in the flesh and more so after Sunny pic.

can u believe that they have put a HUGE saree guard on this beast.....the bike looked yuck.. i felt like taking back all my money. i gave them special instructions that i do not want to see that damn thing when i return tomorrow for taking the baby for good.....

although it felt really good as the number plate on it has a sticker saying SOLD....would have felt so much better with my name on it....though....

                            • Photos of Kawasaki Ninja 650 when arrived at Probiking.

Kawasaki Ninja 650 that went on display recently. Everything looks nice, but the sari guard came in a shocker. I own a Ninja 250R and the sari guard on that bike also blends in. But what I saw on 650 was a disaster.

                              Source: MyBikeMyWorld.com

The Dual Headlight makes night riding super fun. The 55W bulb is the best to illuminate road in the night.

Ninja 650, a mean and mighty bike from Kawasaki. Its the ideal sport touring bike for Indian road conditions.

No heavy graphics used on the body. Just the name 'Ninja650'.

                              Under the limelight.

Then top view. The Sari guard really looks disturbing. It has been designed by Kawasaki themselves. Its going to be obvious that the rider will do away with it.

Hooks for fastening luggage on the rear seat using bungee cords. A very handy feature for a regular tourer.

Broad Dunlop tyres. Known to be great on dry and wet condition.

Broads and low profile. Will give good grip on offroads too.

New improved radiator suitable for Indian riding conditions. A mud guard fender extension would have been a nice feature to protect the radiator front.

Anchors to hook on bungee cords. Comes very handy when doing long rides.

Clean and clear rear vision. Folds in from the mount point in case you want to cut through heavy traffic.

Idling screw located on the right side. some FI bikes don't have it but Kawasaki has given the idling screw in both, Ninja 650 and its younger sibling 250.

Sporty underbelly exhaust. More refined sound. Also can be upgraded to a high performance exhaust.

Very stunning Mono shock. Its very eye catchy on the right side. Gives a smooth bump free ride.

Oil indicator if Digital one malfunctions. Possibility is 0 but if it does then you can still check oil level through this indicator located on then right side of the bike.

Gear lever flipped from the usual appearance. You can notice that the gear lever doesn't appears like the usual way. It has been flipped to give a smooth gear shift feel.

Smooth finish engine. Not a single weld point noticeable. Perfectly carved look.

Dual Disc. Excellent braking performance. When you are doing 200+ kmph, the braking system will not disappoint you when you want to stop immediately.

New swing arm for better stability. It has been designed after making several tests on Indian roads.

Left grab rail removed to mount the sari guard. After to remove the sari guard then you can mount the original left side grab rail but has to be bought separate in accessories.

Sturdy hooks on the rear mud flap. The quality is superior and can take some tension.

Ignition switch located on the fuel tank. This is something we had not seen before. Looks cool.

Very unique design of the ignition switch area. No auto-cop or immobilizer installed. Just standard Kawasaki key to bring this beast alive.

Controls on the left. Horn, upper dipper switch, left right indicators, parking and pass light controls provided at comfortable reach.

Clutch adjustment dial. You can change settings to suit your riding style.

Brake adjustment dial. Best if kept on one particular setting.

The glossy looking kill switch really stands apart. Located on the left side of the handle.

Aerodynamics to cut through wind. And even the quality of the fairing is top notch. Minor bumps won't crack or put a dent on it.

Very modern digital console. Has all the info readings a rider needs about his bike.

Two exhaust pipes coming out of the engine but joints in between.

                              Dunlop touring tyres.

Traditional Kawasaki Petal Disc design. It keeps the temperature of the disc cool as heat is dispersed quickly.

Smooth finish on the chassis. Not a single corner left undone by Kawasaki.

The most ugly looking sari guard ever seen. Kawasaki.. What were you thinking..?

The new split seat. Both can be removed or mounted effortlessly. Softer in cushion.

Under rear seat. Enough space for bike papers and tool kit to hold.

Rubber finish fiber. Inside of the fibre body Kawasaki has given smooth rubber finish at points to save the fibre from cracking or any other damage. Also reduced vibration.

Rear brake fluid cylinder hidden under rider's seat. Can be accessed only after the seat has been ejected.

Two exhaust pipe merge into one under the belly.

55W bulb. Best to illuminate road in night and foggy climate.

Like always, lower beam stays ON. A headlight off switch is something Kawasaki should consider for India models.

The beast staring back at you.

You can read about in detail on the previous article, 'Kawasaki Ninja 650 at first glance at probiking' to know more about this beast.

                              • kwacker 650 it is

Booked my N650 2012 kwacker on the 23rd of Aug. I finished all the formalities only yesterday. The bike is going to be delivered to me at the KTM/ Probiking, Bund garden road outlet on the 4th of Sept. Infact the bike is already there. Only the registration Insurance formalities are pending.
Cant wait to get the delivery.
I was fortunate to get the booking at Pune Probiking. All the 4 bikes that were alloted to the showroom came with Bajaj references - read - strings attached. Fortunately for me i was at the showroom every day since it launced on 9th to inquire about the possibilty of booking the bike.
They say luck favours the brave, in my case it was more to do with someone with oodles of time on their hands. On the 23rd it finally paid off, got a call from probiking at 3 in the afternoon that one of the bajaj reference prospective bike owner has not shown up to lay claim to his beauty and the slot was open, if i was interested. i reached the showroom in a jiffy and booked the bike.
And now the wait until the 4th is going to test every bit of resolve i can muster....
                                more later.
