No news from anyone about the launch
I thought I will recap about few changes which has been incorporated in the 2012 version compared to the 2011 model:
1. The "R" tag has been removed (Not sure about the reason)
2. Only 2 valves per cylinder this time from 4 / cyl
3. Compression ratio 10.8:1 from 11.3:1
4. Frame - Twin-pipe perimeter design, high-tensile steel
from Semi-double cradle, high-tensile steel
5. Weight 460lbs from 449lbs
Best of all is better looks compared to the earlier version (subjective though
)
Awaiting some news on the launch or is it really happening
Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !

2013 Ninja 650 Commercial
So this gives the reason for a no 'R' tag... Feels like the commercial well symbolizes it as a Sport-Tourer ...The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

The website says "no ER6N for India" Does it mean Bajaj has no plans of bringing it here ?Originally posted by kochumvk View Post

Exactly. Main reason is 690 duke as i guessed.Originally posted by shelton_jh View PostThe website says "no ER6N for India" Does it mean Bajaj has no plans of bringing it here ?
actually he was just taking me to smaller machines even if i asked about 650+ classOriginally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postyeah no ER-6N for India.... conflict with KTMs 690.... but they also said more naked pulsars and naked KTM will be there in the future...
I personally believe that Bajaj is selling faired Ninjas (250,650) just because KTM don't have products exactly similar. I donna why I think so. But from the replyI believe its so.
When Bajaj said pulsars unto 700 cc some time back, i was thinking about the same. But looks like it will take upto 2 years.(after duke 350 next year)Originally posted by worrisomebear View Postthe ktm 690 is an awesome machine, if they get that one i would say wowLast edited by kochumvk; 08-09-2012, 08:22 PM.

KTM guys in Gurgaon were saying that the duke 690 will be launched by Diwali. I am sure even Ducati will pull up it's socks by then, then there is Triumph street triple(though delayed), and rumors going around of honda 600f. I think one should wait till Diwali for the 600cc class, unless you do not want look at any other bike at all. Also, apart from the duke 690, others will be superior performance wise, but also dearer by at least a Lac.
