Well, better late than never. Kawasaki just announced the 2013 model which will have ABS option.

IIRC, ABS was introduced as an 'option' in a few countries since 2009.

*Sigh* I wish Bajaj-Kawasaki gets some sense and gets us 'non-dhoom' bike lovers the ER-6N as well :/

Nope, note ZX6R. ZX6R will be fully faired like R6. This is tuned de-tuned version.

Which bike is "this" that the both of you are referring to? I thought the thread is about the Ninja 650

PS: There is no 'R' in the 650 since 2012. The tag has been dropped!

650 R is definitely more practical in India than the super-sport zx-6 R.
Potential buyers now in this class are mostly real bikers who want to ride the bike really long. Those who wanna show i to the kids in the street will probably buy a 1000.

And just think about servicing a high tech IL4 by Bajaj's service guy!
Let them learn first on twins and get passionate and then slowly start on IL4s

and ZX 6 makes most of its juice at considerably higher revs. I think we have really less tracks and even less track riders.

So I think next step to this by Bajaj can be the Ninja 1000 and not ZX 10 R.

Ninja 1000 is an excellent bike. Best usable liter sport bike in Indian conditions in my opinion.

Does ER6N have a detuned motor from ER6F?

I thought both of them have same motor with same output.

They are getting the 2012 edition now in the 7th month of the year, I just wonder when will they get the 2013 one

But yeah that Thunder Blue looks smashing!

Because I hope we Indian's stop wanting impractical "dhoom" bikes and start getting bikes which make a lot more sense for our roads!

                        IIRC, both are identical engine-wise!

Bookings for 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650R to open from 15th July . To be
                          priced at INR 5.80 lakhs

Every serious Indian biker, who has been waiting for a Japanese sports bike to be launched in the country, would rejoice on hearing
this! The long awaited Kawasaki Ninja 650R will be soon re-launched by Bajaj Auto and the Indian manufacturer’s KTM dealerships will start accepting the bookings for the bike from 15th this month. The deliveries of the bike will start from 20th July. It may be noted
that the booking process for the Ninja 650R, which Bajaj Auto had launched earlier, had been terminated since almost a year now. Bajaj
is now launching the latest edition of the Ninja 650R.

The 2012 Ninja 650R, that will come to us, will sport the revised front end and updated tail section. Powering the 2-12 Ninja 650R is
the same 649cc, 72 BHP parallel twin that has been now tweaked for better response in low and mid range. The 2012 model of the 650R that we get also sports an all new twin-spar perimeter frame that should make the bike one step ahead of previous model in terms of handling prowess.

As in the international markets, the upgraded Ninja 650R will come with a price tag of INR 5.80 lakhs, an increase of about INR 80000
                          over the last model.

but where will bajaj sell this bike ( Ninja 650 ), in probiking showrooms?

                              BUT

all probiking showrooms are now branded as KTM, so ninja selling in KTM showrooms....

if this was the case, bajaj should have maintained pro-biking showrooms as it is, so they can sell, all- hi-end bajaj bikes, KTM bikes and Ninjas all at probiking.

Probiking sells only Kawasaki and KTM bikes! Ktm is more of a mass market bike and hence more branding.
