The closest to that would be KTM Duke 350 and Bajaj Pulsar 350SS coming next year
I dont see Bajaj launching this baby here.
    Sure shot cannabilism.
Duke 350+P350 at around the 2-2.25lac mark, why would anyone buy the N250 at close to twice that price?

    But Ninja is Ninja.

Black or White, hope I decide by the time its (hopefully) launched. (And have the money too.)

But it seems like they are going to bring it sooner than expected, if we go by live coverage 650R's launch on motorbeam. P350 is not going to be sold in probiking showrooms, so it's only between Duke & Ninja. Then there is the point that Duke is going to be a naked one, while Ninja comes with full fairing. So, I guess lines are drawn clear enough.

I doubt if the 350's would be that cheap, I'm expecting the Duke to be in the price of the Ninja.

And it wont be cannibalism, since both bike have different market segements. The Ninja will still sell a lot, since in our country "Dhoom" bikes have a higher percived value (on all fronts) compared to any other bike

        • But with Duke at 1.30otr, why will not the D350 be lauched at 2-2.25?

The cost of production shouldnt be much between a 200cc and 350 unless another cylinder is added which would then and only then up the costs and evenso not upto the Ninja which we shouldnt forget is imported, meaning brought in after paying a hefty tax which clearly isnt the case in the locally built from handle to tyre (hilt to toe) Dukes. Phew!

          • Sorry for the off topic. Mods please excuse.
I reckon the 350/375 Duke (my dream motorcycle) when launched would be costing below 2.0 lacs OTR. Provided a higher capacity engine, the only major change implemented.

Here is a comparison. Kindly bear and correct if i'am wrong in this.
The Polo 1.6 with an added 400cc and 30 bHp costs 18,000 INR than the Polo 1.2. The 1.6 has an extra cylinder too. Polo 1.6 is very competitively priced, and that's praise worthy.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

            • Good info,mate.

Same goes with the Duke125,which if internet is to be believed, is not launched in India cuz it would cost around 90k ex-show which by all comparisons is high and it 'definitely' will not sell. *sigh, facts of the internet.*

Well, expecting Duke 350 to be priced minimim 2 to 2.3 Lakhs ex-showroom (not on-road) is safe.

                Reasons:
                1. Increase in cost of manufacturing materials due to ever-depreciating rupee
                2. Much stronger frame needed to be able to support such a high power engine to ensure stability at high speeds (maybe use more components from Duke 690)
                3. If ABS is introduced (again maybe lifted off Duke 690) it will add to the price
                4. If it comes with dual front disc brakes, again this adds to the cost
                5. Premium bikes are sold at very high profit margins. Duke 200 is still accessible to the mass market. I doubt Bajaj would sell Duke 350 at shoe-string margins, because that's the spot where the same platform Pulsar 350NS, Pulsar 350SS and also maybe Avenger 350 will be priced.
                6. Lack of competition - Honda CBR400R(R) is a long way off. And nothing coming (yet) from Suzuki and/or Yamaha stables. TVS 400cc bikes are also far off. Nobody would want to NOT make money in a market without competition - look at Royal Enfield.
Currently without a vehicle. Uber App and Bangalore Metro serving all my travel needs.

If this is true...... Am gonna change my plans and keep dreaming of the ZX 10r .
I already have the 2010 Ninja and see no point of upgrading unless i can get all the goodies!! Then again.... they just might since the Cbr 250r has Abs.
I just wonder if the 2012 is stopped from production are we gonna be screwed for spare parts? or does that continue to be manufactured?

Yes, since as of now, the next and only competition is CBR250, so Otional ABS should be offered.

Can't comment about the availability of the old part, but it's for sure that old model manufacturing will be stopped.

everything remains same if u ask me.CBR is more accessible due to its low-ish price and ninja still not so due to its high-ish price.there is no real competition unless and if at all ninja become like 2lac ex or something.
on topic-does anyone have high resolution wallpics of 2013 model?

whoa.no way.that comparison ain't fair-see BOTh are vfm :duke and pulsar.
CBR is value for money(well until the recent hikes but still!).ninja is more like super premium-we do get performance thou.but in real life conditions as in not track days both bike seem equal according to comparos and well CBR has more and better torque distribution which helps maintain this.ninja is performance at a huge premium.would I buy ninja if I could afford it so?h come on, hell yeah!
at least I can realize those dreams with them wallpics. maybe u could provide links.I checked motorcycle sites but they all have same small files only.

                              Totally agree boss..
I just made the above comment in a casual way..But ya, Both NS and Duke are hell of VFM bikes.
BTW, the ninja official statements say that the LOW and MID range torque has been improved in the 2013 edition.
