Nice walk around video. But i found the tapping and checking really funny, hope he dint waste as much time everytime he bought a bike lol i guess the plastic bits are cost saving measures and so is the side stand engine kill mechanism..(shouldnt make any difference to us indians) it still looks good to me.. with rising prices they have to do something right? cant sell the same bike for 4lacs..Originally posted by bprags View PostRegardless, Life shall go on.

from the video, seems some quality on some parts compromised but is it ? or may be yes or No... only full test review will solve those questions.Originally posted by yellowspunk View PostNice walk around video. first few min in video the tapping of plastic and parts seems funny later i concentrated on the sound , then it made some sense, good effort by that guy,
, something tells me even with new Ninja the old one will win against it in many departments
if your theory of cost saving holds good then we can expect the new Ninja to be much cheaper than current one here, so its advantage.
How many of you ready for less price and lil compromise on quality and OR high quality and high cost [not w.r.t engine, only some body/cosmetic/parts] ??

Maybe they have taken a lead from the CBR and thought that maybe people wont mind a few cheaper plastic bits...Originally posted by nagoo View Postfrom the video, seems some quality on some parts compromised but is it ? or may be yes or No... only full test review will solve those questions.

it wont be cheaper, since the price in indonesia itself has increased by ~5%! (for non-ABS model)Originally posted by nagoo View Postfrom the video, seems some quality on some parts compromised but is it ? or may be yes or No... only full test review will solve those questions.

Yea he was showing the quality by the flex and sound resonance of the material, got it but still funny ! Comparing it to the older model is pointless, the older model will seize to exist.. compare it to the competition.Originally posted by nagoo View Postfrom the video, seems some quality on some parts compromised but is it ? or may be yes or No... only full test review will solve those questions.

lower quality plastic or plastic instead of metal is cost saving but not necessarily cost saving transfered to end customer.
When Yamaha charges 2k extra for a change in paint scheme, i dont expect the new ninja to cost any less than 3.5lacs.
ouch ! and the cbr isnt cheap.Originally posted by j4zb4 View PostMaybe they have taken a lead from the CBR and thought that maybe people wont mind a few cheaper plastic bits...
That proves my guess. 3.3lacs is already costly ! will ninja ever be manufactured in india..Originally posted by blizviz View Postit wont be cheaper, since the price in indonesia itself has increased by ~5%! (for non-ABS model)

I wont mind much, as long as the Quality is acceptable enough..Originally posted by nagoo View PostHow many of you ready for less price and lil compromise on quality and OR high quality and high cost [not w.r.t engine, only some body/cosmetic/parts] ??
and as @yellowspunk said -Bajaj please manufacture it in India.
the way Indian biking senario is growing, Ninja 250(if correctly priced like KTM) will be as populer as in other countries...

well it's already higher priced in the global market..shows $4500 something..and with all these features..I seriously doubt it would be anywhere close to the current price of the Ninja 250R in India.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostI wont mind much, as long as the Quality is acceptable enough..

Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Game for anything less than 3.75 Lacs(On Road). And I prefer CBU or CKD route instead of making it in India like the CBR. I think making it in India will not match the quality of that made in Japan or Thailand (My opinion). Don't mind paying extra for a CBU or CKD. And I think Kawasaki wont allow any localisation in Ninja for the fear of ruining their reputation. I guess this was the agreement between 2 companies before Bajaj decided to launch Ninja in India.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostI wont mind much, as long as the Quality is acceptable enough..

The current NINJA price in India, includes a lot of Taxes as well.Originally posted by R-series View Postwell it's already higher priced in the global market..shows $4500 something..and with all these features..I seriously doubt it would be anywhere close to the current price of the Ninja 250R in India.
If BAL manufactures it in India, the Import duty will be totally off. That can bring down the price to quite an extent.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

Whats with the cbr bashing?!Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostGame for anything less than 3.75 Lacs(On Road). And I prefer CBU or CKD route instead of making it in India like the CBR. the only bad thing about the cbr is the welds and that is just my opinion. The KTM is manufactured here, the R15 is ! Heck BMW, Audi, Honda, Suzuki etc etc etc etc so called great japanese manufacturers manufacture here.
And FYI the flimsy plastic is from a bike manufactured in thailand. And the CBR in thailand/US also had bad welds. Its just cost cutting.
You can make a rolls royce even in antartica, all you need is money, you will pay extra for special antartica manufactured RR?
