  • I read in one of threads in What Bike section for Ninja250R that bookings for current N250R have stopped in Chennai. So this means there are good chances of the new model (2013 N250R or N300) coming to India sooner than what everyone had expected. I am still skeptical about N300 coming to India due to their pricing if launched here. Let's see what is finally launched in India and importantly how soon?

In the meantime, let's do some hypothetical number crunching. Current Ninja 250R costs 3 Lakhs in India. Let's take the example of the price in USA. The 2012 Ninja 250R (carbed version) cost $4199. The 2013 Ninja 300 will cost $4799 for standard trim and $5499 for the ABS version. a 700$ increase means 17%! Also to be noted is the 10% price increase of the 2013 Ninja 250 in Asian markets (where already launched). So, if the price increases by the same percentage in India, the Ninja 300 might cost between 3.3 Lakhs to 3.5 Lakhs. That's quite a price increase for an already expensive bike. Not to forget further potential increase if the tax laws or regulations are different for 300cc bikes.
Sir.. the current OTR price for Ninja in B'lore way exceeds 3.55L .. and not to forget in KAR the service tax has been increased 0.5% from Aug1

with assumption of 50k-60k increase it might cost wopping around 4L OTR in B'lore , which is very difficult to say if it deserves that amount.
but on the other side of coin, you can't do anything about it as raw material and import/custom prices also rocketed skywards.
i still say CBR250 is safe as long as any 250 starts making local production [might be Yamaha 250]

i too read same thing, but i guess if price increase of 50k-60k on new Ninja then ... old and new both should sale along side, which makes perfect sense

Thanks for the info. Now, it doesn't make sense to price the Ninja 300 so close to the ER6 duo. Hopefully, to maintain sanity of price, Kawasaki will launch the 2013 Ninja 250

        • If this is going to cost 3.8L, people would rather preffer the N 650R...
Double the power at 50k extra...

              • Kawasaki Ninja 300R Being Tested in India. Diwali Launch

While we had always known that the all new Ninja 300R is headed to India, a good friend of us has told us that the bike is already in India and is being tested at Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE). We were further told that ARAI is conducting brake tests for the bike. Bajaj Autos Ltd, Kawasaki’s Indian partner, plans to launch the bike in the fast approaching festive season. The color options for bike include Green, Red and White.

Does that mean no Black?? If yes then why

                  • 0-100 seems to be the same as older Ninja which did a 7.5. But just as i suspected the improved lower end torque means theres a bit of compensation on the top speed.

                          • Need your comments on this.........

Guys it seems like Bajaj Auto is focusing more on KTM as most of their Pro-Biking showrooms are being re-branded as KTM with little or no hint of Kawasaki. Does it means Kawasaki does not have a very bright future with Bajaj.

                            • Unlikely. They have had a good relation. Bajaj has learned a lot from mthe Japs & Suzuki being not one of the major Jap manufacturer will avoid heavy investments by going solo. PBK will cater exclusively to both KTM & Kawasaki.

Thanks for the comment Sir but I am sorry I do not understand where did Suzuki come in the picture over here. Also Suzuki is a major Japanese manufacturer. ( I hope I am getting it correctly Jap stands for Japanese).

Kindly correct me if I am wrong. A bit new to this forum.
