  • Mostly N300 will not have ABS option given as 2013 N650 has not been given that option even though it is available overseas. Coming to the cost, I do not think it will be 4.3L as the website says, but should come up to 4L mark.

    So Duke 390 would cost around 2.25L < N300 would cost around 4L < GT650N costs 4.5L < N650 / GT650R costs 5.5L
Many who had their eyes set on N300 would be dissappointed to say the least if the price crosses 4L.

I think price could be right , if u didn't knew the current Ninja has price tag of around 3.5+L OTR in BLR and surely it will surpass 4.3L OTR .

seems like my decision to go for GTR was well timed

        • If this is the price it makes sense to go for GTR-650N then .

IMHO 650cc V-Twin Naked from Hyosung > 250cc parallel faired from Kawa

I guess they are pushing it a bit too much on the name of Brand. Heck you would get 2 ABS CBRs for a Ninja 300. I don't think Bajaj would do this .

Looks like Probiking Pune themselves confused on this, yesterday on the Phone call they said booking opened, today I personally visited and they are saying booking not opened yet. They have no idea on pricing, models and colors and deliveries. "Probable launch will be in April end and then bookings will start" their representative added...

Nope. Austria. The KTM 390, a single cylinder 390 cc engine that is mad enough and looks exactly like the duke 200 would then be a boring proposition if it goes 2+ (Considering its made in India and is essentially the duke 200 with little changes)

If the Ninja goes in 4L territory, they can price the D390 from 1.4 to 4.someting. Do a lame arse average and suddenly the Duke390 JUST got pricey for a lot of WRONG reasons!

              • Got a call from KTM delhi today in the afternoon. Price of Ninja 300 (yes, not 250) as they said is 4.2L (approx) would be 4.3L but no more. They called me up as I inquired about exchanging my Ninja for the KTM 390. That's when they offered the Ninja 300 and said you can get it by June for sure. But I refused saying that's too much for what it is.

I'm smelling the D390 to be overpriced as well...

                  • Its kindof sad that we wont be getting the abs version. It was supposed to be the most advanced abs system for this class of
sportbikes.Of course it would have shot up the price northwards..but eitherways n300 is positioned for the niche market

                    • I still feel that D390 will be within reach and cost approx 2-2.25L ex-show and as strategy P390 might hit less than 2L mark. and to compete with N300 and like wise bikes KTM might offer fared version of Duke [aka Mini RC8] with premium price near to Ninja/Hyo.

in any case for the power hungry junta with budget ... "Pulsar and Honda hai na bhai.... fikar kyu ? "

                      • The fact remains that Kawasaki does not manufacture the Ninja in India which is the only way for it to bring down the costs. The current price rise is in accordance with the global markets and if the 2012 250 retailed at 3.7 then the price hike, IMO, is nominal for the 300.

It would be unfair to say that if one puts in a few more bucks then he/she could go for the N650. Had Kawasaki/Bajaj launched the ZX6R at N650 rates, then yes it would be logical to say the 300 is overpriced. One has to realize that both bikes are from completely different categories and should not be compared purely on the engine capacity/power bump.

The next competitors from the Hyosung's stable again have a repute to build and quality to deliver before they can begin to command a premium. The Hyosung bikes are good but have some way to go to be termed as excellent.

The current 300 will also find buyers and will remain a niche bike but its a bit too much to say R.I.P. to an amazing piece of machinery.

                        • Had been to the Probiking showroom in Kanjurmarg, Mumbai today. The bookings of both Duke 390 and Ninja 300 will start from April. The expected waiting period for Ninja 300 is 45 days and OTR price of Rs. 3.9 L. Duke 390 expected OTR price quoted was Rs. 2.2L with a similar waiting period.

                            • Hi People, I've been following xBhp since quite sometime now keeping a close eye on the threads I am interested on. I do not generally post anything on the forum however now, since I have planned to gift myself a Ninja 300 I thought I should share a piece of information with you all who might as well be interested in the Ninja 300

Yesterday, I was at the KTM Showroon in Vashi, Navi Mumbai to inquire about the Ninja. The female at the desk told me that the Ninja can be booked (officially) by the 10th of April and the bike can be seen on display by end of April and this - is a pretty much a confirmed news. However, the waiting period after booking is of 120 days! Its going to be a real LONG wait...oh yes, and the booking amount is 30k

Anybody else have any reliable information on the Ninja coming to the stores please?

Well that is good news on the booking front but sad on the waiting period. I am more inclined to go with what was told by the guys at the Mumbai showroom with respect to the waiting period. They had told me back in August that the new Ninja 250 (300 wasn't revealed back then) wouldn't be available before June 2013 and it turned out to be pretty accurate.

I'm in the process of getting some riding gears till then...
