  • I wonder what difference they hope to make in sales by adding another 50cc, it makes it even more expensive which is crazy. They should have brought the revamped 250R and allowed the market to get used to Ninjas..

To quote bluevolt "The discussion can go on forever, so let's leave this where it is. Different strokes for different folks, I'd say. "
of course they belong to different categories, which is why such a debate shouldn't even arise. Speaking of VFM, between the Ninja and CBR, I would say the CBR is more VFM in the 250 category. But still you cannot compare the CBR with the Ninja since they are quite different too. CBR is a dedicated sports tourer, while the Ninja is more like a track bike that is also used for touring.

Its not just the cc, they brought in some more stuff like Digital Fuel Injection with dual throttle bodies, improved frame, KAMS, ABS, Assist-Slipper clutch(first of its kind for its range) also some more power compared to the 250.

Indian manufacturers as well as prospective buyers make a big hullah for bikes with a meager 5-10cc difference in displacement (HHP Pro vs XPro, Yamaha Ray 115 vs Activa 110). So why not Kawasaki? That too, with some advantages thrown in! Thank heavens that they are not making us to think about the probability of Ninja 260!

        • Official update- Kawasaki Ninja 300 bookings open in Mumbai

          2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300

A couple of days ago I had visited the East Mumbai KTM (Kanjur Marg West)showroom to inquire about the impending launches of the baby Kwacker and the Duke 390. I was told that both will be unveiled around the same time in end- April and they would intimate prospective buyers about details. Though they were still tight-lipped about other details, one thing I got confirmation on was that it was the Ninja 300 and not 250 that was coming.

And today I finally got a call an hour back informing that bookings were open for the N300.

          Booking amount- Rs.40,000
          Launch date- 10th April
          OTR price (M'bai)- 3.8 - 3.9 lakh

The above was all divulged over phone and the woman said that the price is "between 3 to 4 lakhs" (yeah, that's very helpful) initially and on pestering gave me the 3.8 figure.

Meanwhile, the Duke 390 is coming later "end- April and beginning of May" is what I've been informed.

Price is expected to be 3.6 for non ABS
and 3.9 for ABS version.I asked him twice and he said this will be the price!
and they are getting green/black combo and white.
            Good piece of information!
But are you sure the ABS is going to make it in India? From what I hear, the N650 doesn't even have an optional ABS so the ABS for N300 is a very very remote possibility. I am very much inclined for the ABS model and it only makes sense to buy a machine with such power to be equipped with ABS...

            • The last time I visited the Kanjurmarg showroom, I had given them my details for any information regarding ninja 300 booking. Got a call yesterday around 2 p.m. stating that they had started taking bookings and the booking price as stated by DeVille was Rs. 40K.

Landed up at the PBK showroom today at around 6 and paid the booking amount ... On enquiring it seems they have already received over 7 bookings!!! Apparently the Bajaj factory is moving from Chakan to some other place in Maharashtra (forgot the name) and is the reason for the delayed launch of Duke 390 and Ninja 300 (supposed to have been launched in February and March respectively).

As of now only White and Green models are available for bookings and even the PBK guys are not sure if the special edition is going to be launched. They have told me to wait till April 10 when the official announcement will take place and I can opt for the special edition IF it launches. Personally I don't think the special edition is going to be launched cause they would have included it in the booking form as well . I hope I'm proved wrong.

Few details I managed to prise from them:
Expected start of delivery: 1st or 2nd week of May
Number of bikes expected to be given per lot: 10
Documents needed while paying balance amount: Address proof (Passport for me) and two passport size photographs
Post allotment from the company we have to make the balance payment in a week's time along with the above documents and the bike will be delivered after 10 to 14 days...

              A copy of my receipt:

The figure should be around 10 at the Kanjurmarg PBK. Not sure about the Vashi one.

Not as of now. Waiting for April 10th when it'll be confirmed if the SE is coming or not. Will change my preference from white to SE if it launches and is below 4.3L (which is the most I am ready to cough out)

I hope the SE with ABS is available atleast by August/September which is when I'll most probably be booking it.

Well I hope not cause I will be pretty pissed if they launch the SE after I get myself a regular white one.

ROFL , wait for them to launch it then? For me it'll take atleast a good 9 months before getting the bike, so I'm quite optimistic that the SE will be available by then
