    Some more pics

Some more pics have emerged of the speculated CBR500. This time, they appeared in a Thai magazine.

Its still not clear whether this is the actual bike or a photoshopped one.

It still looks like this bike will have an engine capacity of less than 500cc. Could this be the next CBR250???

Here are the Technical Specifications of Honda CBR500R:
      - 470cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin
      - Six-speed manual
      - 46.9bhp
      - 30lb/ft of torque
      - 401lbs (dry)/430lbs (wet)
      - 105mph top speed
      - 31-inch seat height
      - 120/70-17 (front)/160-60-17 (rear)
It is being said that the above data comes from an unrevealed source at Honda Europe. The power figures look very apt for the new A2 license tier in Europe. The new license enables 19-year olds to ride bikes with up to 46.9 horsepower.
At this power rating, the CBR500R is almost twice as powerful as the CBR 250. The new CBR makes 30lb/ft of torque and has 50% more torque than the Ninja 300. The bike will be manufactured in Thailand and will borrow a lot of parts from the CBR250. The 500 will be almost 85% as fuel efficient as the Honda CBR250 and the new Honda CBR500R definitely offers a good blend of performance and affordability.

      - According to Motoroids. Yet to be confirmed so don't take my word for it!

^^ if we look at CC and power figures alone, this seems to be the most authentic news so far.

though top speed seems like a bit less than ...what it should be.

I think if CBR 500 is into picture now then what will happen to CBR 600RR ??

IS Honda opting Bajaj scheme of products design ?? 100-125-135-150-180-200-220 ...lol...ROFL i will forget the real numbers of bikes ...ROFL

But seriously I think Honda should locally manufacture CBR 600RR and that will be sufficient.

if u comparing to a ninja 300-650 price,.,.,then you must also consider the fact that they are imported and attract an import duty
No mate how come a CBR 500 come for a price of 2.5L ?? A simple 250cc CBR non ABS comes for 1.6-1.7L OTR, so just think double the size of this engine i.e 500cc. If it comes under 3L then it's nice but this is over expectation from HOnda!!! ANd if it features ABS then surely cross 3L also...

Exactly.over expectation from.they're known to overprice.cbr250 is a good product but no longer justifies the premium anymore nw that duke is here.500 it should cost 2.5 or at most 3l if its locally made or eventually it'll be a failure like honda cars nowadays. And We nw know the full specs of 500 thanks to mcn, hellforleather and motoroids.

N300 tops out at 108 mph i think. This would be competiing against the N300 elsewhere. However this just like the CBR is also a sports tourer with a friendly pillion seat and grab rails

The CBR and Duke have absolutely nothing in common. The Duke has very minimum body panels and the technology inside both the engines are very different. It would be stupidity to think the CBR and the Duke should be priced similarly. Two unique bikes built for seperate purpose with dis similar tech. The 250R was built groundup from scratch unlike the D200.
If i were to go by your statement then the R15 seems way too overpriced just because its a 150cc at 17PS. But we all know that isnt the case here.

Pricing depends on the input costs which basically varies with the price of raw materials every few months!

From the looks of it (especially the exhaust) I'd say its based on the CB300R and *not* a 400 or even a 500!

Seems logical that it'd be a 300 considering that the N300 also just came out.

The 600RR will stay and how! Expect Honda to price this one around the 5-6L mark when it debuts here.

. All use the same new, liquid-cooled, parallel twin 500cc powerplant which is expected to produce peak power of around 47bhp

Either the riders are very big or the bike is really small. Does not feel like a 500cc sportsbike. I hate the new trend of reducing size. Rest is typical Honda common sense.
