Infact we should be proud to get something like this made in India.
Compare the Top speed of Duke and CBR or R15 and P180( almost equal Power). Its not about brand dude. They must have made the bike for a purpose. The rev limiters are there for a purpose.A real world Top speed of 160 is more than enough for a single 375 CC . Leave the above margins for the doubles(Twin cylinder pulsars of future)....
And well, if it does, then the price would shoot up,for the quality of engine components....

I would still prefer a Naked with 10-15 Kgs less than a Full Faired model..

OK, forget that. I was saying, the PtW ratio of Duke is better than CBR. But CBR does everything better than Duke. Its all upto the engine components. What it can handle. And I am not bashing. I am just saying, that expecting a VFM, single cylinder bike to go a step ahead of Ninja's teritorry is not practical.

I'll say expect 20kmph less top speed than a ktm 370/390.

So the 33 Ps Ninja would go as fast as a ~40-44 Ps Pulsar (both full faired) just because the Ninja is twin cylinder and Pulsar has a single cylinder?

Because, from your example, it seems that you are comparing 2 full faired bikes with equally powerful nakeds. Worse aerodynamics of Nakeds in general (and the extremely short gearing of the KTM) are the real reasons why Pulsar and Duke don't match the R15 and CBR250R respectively at the top end. Not quality of engine components.

Think again. The weight differences between:
              Kawasaki ER-6f and ER-6n is 5kg
              Hyosung GT650R and GT650N is 7kg
              Yamaha FZ8 and Fazer8 is 5kg
              Honda CBR500 and CB500F(Naked) is 3kg.

Still think that the weight savings are worth it?

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

the design is something which we have never come across from a indian company! 'm sure the motorbike market is gonna heat up with lots of capable bikes in a matter of a year o so.

not sure why you guys cribbing about top speed ??
trust me anything above 150kmph is not soo pleasant on the roads, even small bump/stone or un-even road makes the ride really scary, i have done 167kmph on GTR and honestly i can say anything above 150 is not good unless a butter smooth roads are there.

Just hope that the New Pulsi... has good handling to comfort speed till 140kmph it all anyone needs for touring

ohh friends, please dont kill me for my Expectatons. If your words are true, I will be the happiest(being a potential customer). My point actually is - Expect less, so that U get less disappointed (Recently many have disapointed us you see- New RTR and New R15).
Who knows, this might be the fully faired 200 !!!
@Nagoo:You are right .And for me, a comfortable, stressless cruising speed of 120/130 kmph would do more than enough.

A practical, good handler, with good touring capabilities is what I'm expecting the New Pulsar to be. Speeds well, a Liter bike does close to 300 kmph, the question is, how many owners take their liter bikes to those speeds every time they ride, or let's put it this way... how many liter bike owners take their bikes to speeds beyond say 150-160 kmph constantly every time they ride. I can comfortably assume, there won't be many. So, why think so much for a number which would only be attained only 2-3% of the bike's life time. We should instead think about, how comfortable, stable, flick-able and fun the bike would be in everyday speeds. If the bike is fun in everyday speeds, that's worth every dime spent on it (My own thoughts others are most welcome to differ, which I know they would)

About the design and coloring... well these are spy shots we are talking about. The final production version might end up looking a bit different in terms of coloring and paneling so, let's wait and watch the Pune dudes to come up with more.

Satyen dude, you have started to give some serious anxiety... would request you to come up with some more steroidal doze to relax this anxiety
Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

                        My own thoughts - Throttle

From the top view, the fairing does not look like a "wide" fairing like that of R15.

Also, I hope it's tail light is different than that of 200 NS. Have got bored of two parallel lights at the back. Plus, people should be able to differentiate it from the back as well and not pass it off as another pulsar.

I take back what I said. . I was very irritated first time I saw the first pic. I still can't make out what I'm seeing, my brain's telling me I should see front wheel in the first pic and handle bar in the second pic but eyes are not agreeing on that. Mine brain and eyes are at loggerheads.

But still if it's not too much to ask, could you please post back those pictures without much of that graphics.
                              Million thanks in advance.
PS- Something tells me you have seen the bike in person. Can you tell me if the bike has full fairing or half?

Honestly, fairing makes hell of a difference at high speed. You can expect pulsar to do better top speed than Duke even if it has a few horses less.

Comparing R15 and P180, Both are with equal power. Here, R15 can do 140+ easily but Pulsar barely does 130. If you put R15 fairing on pulsar, it easily touches 145+ ( - experiece of a senior member who did that job)
