    My Dhoom Days are over.

If a NS (Naked Sports) Avatar of the alleged 375 cc engine comes, I might get tempted.

I am not sure about the quality of the P200NS.. but AFAIK and as per my experience.. Bajaj bikes are cheap to get.. but the spare wear and tear easily causing a big pain in our back.. atleast as per my experience.. thats when I lost faith in Bajaj and never wanted to go back for a Bajaj product ever again.. but again.. if they can change this mind set of mine.. then i would definitely go for the P375.. else it is going to be the Duke 390 for me.. Baby Ninja is just too costly If Bajaj prices it perfectly and if spending 1.5 to 2L on that bike.. every penny spent on the bike should be worth it.. I am not saying ZMR is worth every penny spent on it.. but the bike is simply reliable and trouble free thanks to Honda..

now Don't think I am trying to get a brand fight.. I got the ZMR as I had a ZMA and it was one of the most reliable bikes ever...

The 200NS is there in my wishlist. Just waiting for the Financial situation to get stable and also find enough time to ride (not commute).

My Dhoom days are just about to begin...... yahoo ... !!!

having a thorough experience of pulsar, i am completely aware of both positives and negatives of both bajaj and pulsar as a brand. .. and i am ready to take this P375 as till now it seems to be ticking all the right boxes.

for those who say bajaj quality and reliability is not good and compare it with hero honda products specially zma etc, i would say look at the power difference... so its basically upto the buyer-- whether you want a comparitively relaxed riding with less power and more reliability or more power and a bit more aggressive riding stance-- choice is yours.

in an affordable bike, you win some, you loose some, some are ready to loose reliability some are ready to loose power. you have a choice.

                anyway coming back to topic.

375 CC engine, FI, ABS, projector headlamps, full fairing, 0-100 timing in the range of 6.0 to 6.75 secs, and costing 1.65 to 1.85 lakhs and i am going to pick -it up .... to hell with reliability coz i know how to maintain bajaj bikes and have access to some of the best pulsar mechanics in pune....to hell with riding position...coz i know it will have atleast a riding stance similar to CBR....just a simple request-- a 17 litres fuel tank made of metal so i do not have to change my magnetic tank bag...........

Seems like you suddenly got some heavy dosage of Pot!!

So, here is the thing. Pulsar is not at all a bad bike. The kind of performance it offers for the price is best, undoubtedly. BUT it's the after Service Centre's which sucks. Over the time you will be neglected.

With Duke, I don't think it's ever gonna happen untill Bajaj takes over a real percentage in terms of stake. They will have to maintain the quality & after sales support. I own a 220 Fi & I still love it but guess what, even I am through with Pulsar. I can buy Discover or platina which would be easy to maintain since it can be serviced anywhere but no more Bajaj bike which will have some technology built in cause they don't know a SH*T about it.

Theres other side to this experience. There are many others like me who sold their Karizma, and found solace in P220. My experience with Bajaj has been better. Its not that Bajaj bikes break down every now and then or they need spares very often. Thats a myth.
My experience with Karizma was one of the worst I would say. With engine knocking, hard gear shifting, fairing vibrations and to top it all not so good response from Hero when you send them a mail. With Bajaj, I never had those issues, also if the Service Centre does not listen to you, you know you can rely on Bajaj.

It is this experience, that helped me in choosing Duke 200 (which is also made in Bajaj Plant) over CBR250. The showroom guys at Probiking treat you like a king. They make you feel like you are investing a lot of money on a bike. This was so very oppposite to my experience in Honda when I went there to enquire about CBR.

I am not trying to start a brand war here. The bottom line is every manufacturer has its Pluses and Minuses. It is how those minuses affect you and how those pluses make you feel good.

Great move by Bajaj, I wish the parts could be of top quality like the Yamahas. Should have more appeal if branded under a different name.

I do agree to your point.. everyone or the other face problems with manufacturers... its not their fault.. its the experience they had.. and for me I had a bad Experience with Bajaj and you had issues with Hero Honda..

In the last decade Bajaj made the first attempt to come out with a world bike for which they worked with Kawasaki. The outcome of the joint effort was Wind 125, later whose skin has been borrowed by Platina, which was manufactured by Bajaj and was supposed to be sold across the world by Kawasaki through its own outlet. That time Bajaj was rapped by Kawasaki for the low quality of the bike and asked Bajaj to pull its socks if it wants to be world player. Inspite of best efforts from Bajaj to push it through Kawasaki it could not succeed. Kawasaki made it clear that the quality levels might be acceptable to India but not for the world.

Fast forward to this year, Kawasaki is preparing to launch P200NS in Indonesia under its own Brand after making few minor changes. No idea if these are related to the design of something else and these changes will be available to all Pulsars. So this initiative from Kawasaki , in my view, should speak loud about the quality of Bajaj Bikes or atleast for P200NS.

Coming to identifying the silencer on the bike, which someone asked in the thread, i think i found it. Please check the portion below the swing arm in the below pic. There is some rusty box type structure visible and i think that's the silencer. Also if we carefully look at the swing arm it looks bigger and the shape is also different from P200NS. Does anyone else feels same?
