I don't think my ZMA would have lasted for 6 years with me.. and I didn't have to take my ZMA to the service center often to get the spares changed.. You are right about spares for ZMR.. but for ZMA you can get it instantly.. well.. thats not my point here.. my point was that maintaining the Pulsar to me was a big night mare and that often scared me.. and even now scares me but yeah.. things might have changed in the past 4 years..
Looks like your bad experience with your p180 may keep you away from many great bikes to come from Bajaj.
Thats why I am saying this:

I have ridden a 2009 P220 well before sunrises till a lot after sun sets. continuously , on hot National highways, with a simple air-cooled motor of it.
Most of the time really large numbers on speedo, a true top speed that is 10kms north of an ZMR is shown often on the display. Never have given up my little pulsar.
I found it far less expensive to maintain, than most bikes in its class and nicer response from service centers. But yes their guys at SVC sux big time. I had to ask them tight this bolt that bolt etc. But thats ok to me now

There are too many 220ians out their they are proud and happy of their Pulsar. I am just one among them.

This is the reason why I am spending time in this thread even if I am not going to buy one probably.

Will definitely consider buying one from Bajaj as soon as they start building 600cc+ multi cylinder bikes.

Hope this helps. (Though its OT, its posted incase your experience is the sole deal breaker in purchasing a P375)

Maybe you are right.. Thats what I am trying to say I just hope this bike is going to be worth every penny spent on it.. i will wait for 6 months after introduction.. and see how the response is from the owners and friends.. then I will go for it.. if it wins my attention.. then there will be no stopping me from getting it.. else I have other choices.. Duke 390 for sure..

guys, motoroids report that the ktm duke390 has been launched in singapore at 11900 SGD which translates to roughly 5.25 lakh. ktm duke 200 retails at an indian price equivalent of almost 4.5 lakhs which points to the possibility of the 390 duke being price at/even slightly under the 2 lakh band. Now my point is that, if the expensive duke is priced that way then could we expect the p375 at a sub 2lakh price putting the bang right on the CBR 250's territory and i expect the motor to be even more butter smooth compared to the already super smooth and super slick p200 NS which if it is could give cbr 250 and hyosung GT 250 some sleepless nights.

Finally some comment related to the topic. Singapore version is a loaded version, even 200 is sold with ABS in singapore. So premium against 200 will be around a 1L in India.

If P375 is launched with ABS at 1.75L, then its definitely a blow to CBR250 but it wont happen. Bajaj will keep at least 1L premium over 200ns.

If only R25 is also lauched at 2 lakh price point then CBR250 and GT250 will be worried.

Wonder whether p375 will be sold only in pro-biking showroom or all showrooms..

even in 2010 model of my friend's P180 used to give troubles..luckily not so in engine but in body parts like lock sets, rear LED tail light went kaput, rattling plastics, cone set, & there are small niggles like these which won't cost much money but an owner's time!!
Trust me I have a ZMR of same year's July model 2010 (his P180 was of April 2010) but even till now my bike's lock sets, LED tail lights & other things which his P180 had problems with, are perfectly fine..my bike's engine didn't use to sound as harsh as his bike's after 3yrs even after we used to put almost same quality of engine oil..
ZMR's spares do cost a lot but they last longer as well..till now after 3Yrs I have changed..disc pads couple of times, Clutch wire, Chain set & Clutch plates just now after roughly 30K kms on the odo(apart from accidents)
apart from this I always took my bike for regular servicing..didn't invest my time in service center for any other issue..
Its not just about cheaper cost of spares but the main thing is the "Time" you invest while going to service center for even a small niggle..I hope Bajaj will look seriously on this issue & start building a good image of its different brands..
P200NS is yet to prove its reliability & I hope it won't disappoint us but Engines in previous generations of Pulsar's were not as reliable & smooth like the Engines in HH/Honda bikes & this is true no matter how much one can vouch for his Pulsar..
I do hope things will go in better direction from Bajaj stable now after KTM & Kawa started sharing their tips & tech with them!!
Best of Luck Bajaj for a brighter future(in a way,for us riders)

That's going to be one long wait, would you not settle for bikes from other manufacturers(Honda/Yamaha/Kawi/Suzuki) provided you have the capital for them? Or would you still wait?

I don't think they would keep it to only Probiking. Most probably it will be available at all bajaj showrooms.

Thats going to be an issue. It will be close to 2Lakhs and most people don't want normal showroom guys touch their 2Lakh bike. With fairing and all its going to be challenge for normal showroom guys. I hope Bajaj sells it only in Pro-biking showroom.

Nah, it won't be that much of an issue, it will be mostly like how Honda sells its CBRs.

It doesn't matter to me! Since I am not waiting at all! I never said I am waiting

I can definitely settle for any manufacurer since I am not a brand addict.

For the brands you said, Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki are out of my list since their bikes on offer in India are too big for me.

Basically I am happy when Indian manufacturers are coming up with new products, that doesn't mean that I am waiting for that.

i mean this is as best as it can get.

and your profile pic shows you riding a pulsar.

yes, just to make a comparison...

see a hyosung, that is how a properly proportioned bike should look like from front. the front windshield should come upto some height to give effective wind protection. also see the handle bars, on a sports bike, the handle bars should be a bit sloping downwards and not flat and parallel to ground .
Prince: Let me explain to you. If you go & check out my history in XBHP you will find that I was one of the staunch supporter of Pulsar brand. In fact, it is still one of the best machine to have been launched. At that time, Fi, projector headlamps, tubeless tyres, O ring chain etc these were premium in those days. The day 220 was launched, I drooled over that product. My ownership about the bike has been great except recently. Bajaj has completely agreed to forget about the same bike which catapulted it to the sports bike category segment. After the launch of Duke & Ninja, there is nobody to service a P220 Fi & most Fi owners have converted their bike to a carb one. That's the ground reality. So, for me a Hi-Tech Pulsar will never be an option since I know down the line, it's going to get a harsh treatment. Duke & Ninja are very much welcome.

I am trying last bit effort to revive my P220 Fi. It's still got the heart but unfortunately no good doctos are there to attend. Still trying my best to get hold of old doc & spare parts.
