But that is how the biking world develops. New faster machines come in. They do create a lot of problems due to certain elements in society and finally the law realizes it cant sit back and do nothing and therefore implementation and administration of motorvehicle laws improve.Originally posted by HarishK View Post

Well, biking scene in India is changing abruptly and we can say it accelerated on the release of both karizmas and the p220. Both indian brands. Then came the other bikes like r15, cbr, etc. Now with hyosung, Ktm, ninja, Ducati and HD releasing their vfm models in India, biking scene here accelerates to a whole new level. With it, even the thinking of public has to evolve. Else we see maniacs taking their bikes and dragging everywhere. The government has to step in then. That's the only way.
Also it does not mean biking must not evolve cause of these reasons. Release of duke and pulsar 375 or 390 is an important milestone for bikers like us and maybe for the govt too. Hope new safety standards are incorporated.
How about a special license for riders whose rides cross a certain cc level wherein they have to have certain qualities, without which they are not permitted to ride?
Else every monkey with no knowledge and which has cash will buy a bike and start dancing around on it threatening the safety of all.

Exactly. We need staged licensing system. Unfortunately, We dont have any professionally competent govt bosy to think in that direction. Public is already a bit vocal against guys on able bikes. They thinks all are morons. We cant blame since a lot of them are out there.
Manufacturers tried max not to outpace the govt measures but, they cant hold any more
I don't believe there is even a single person who has not broke the rule of 50kmph max speed. Its is simple rule is outdated.
Constitutional amendments came every now and then to take more away from public. But simpler, better motor vehicle regulations cannot be made. Oh helpless as anybody here.
We need to strictly prohibit speeding in city anything above 50 should be punished heavily. Kids should not be allowed to escape paying 100 Rs to the policeman.
But a more meaningful highway norms can be implemented.

Not to forget.. our govt is the most corrupted.. worse than that the cops.. they beg for money and bribe these days.. so if one wants a license.. he pays money and he gets it.. in case of a minor.. he pays 50 bucks and gets away without being sacked..Originally posted by kochumvk View PostExactly. Then god save the innocent ones from the wrath of the stupid monkeys on bikes. Specially bikes above 250cc. Hope the responsibility dawns on them sooner!Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostNot to forget.. our govt is the most corrupted.. worse than that the cops.. they beg for money and bribe these days.. so if one wants a license.. he pays money and he gets it.. in case of a minor.. he pays 50 bucks and gets away without being sacked..

This is a let down for P375 when compared to D390. The handling benchmark is tossed up for keeping the cost low as seen on P200NS vs D200.

"Letdown"?? In what way, please elaborate! And did I say anything about handling?Originally posted by HarishK View PostThis is a let down for P375 when compared to D390. The handling benchmark is tossed up for keeping the cost low as seen on P200NS vs D200.

Yes its a let down. However, 200NS offers amazing handling for the price. With better rubber 200NS is not that bad for the money. I will say its not too inferior considering added weight.Originally posted by HarishK View PostThis is a let down for P375 when compared to D390. More so for a sub 1L bike.
Actually for a tourer, it will be good to have some wight especially with poorly designed aerodynamic aids.Originally posted by DeVille View Post"Letdown"?? In what way, please elaborate! And did I say anything about handling?

Considering 200 NS's weight 375 will weigh some 165 - 170kg minimum. Very good compared to 25HP CBR and super heavy GT 250.
However, 165-170 Kgs is unfortunately is equal to modern 1L bikes.(of course with carbon-fiber, aluminum and titanium parts)
So, with that added wight , P375 will move further away from the purity the uncompromising character of D390.
If considerable re engineering is not done, adding a heavy fairing/brackets/ headlamp assembly will affect the mass distribution. (Or the Muffler have to move back?)
If properly done even 170kgs will prove lethal to its opponents.
All said It is always better to make it light and design a properly aerodynamic body work to achieve straight-line stability.

My opinion is that for everything except high speed touring, weight = satan. Though 160kg is a very realistic ballpark for a faired 375cc bike. Will be sort of medium weight... can't really call it light or heavy.Originally posted by DeVille View Post@kochumvk Regarding weight I personally dont mind kerb weight going upto 160-165 kg…dont see it exceeding that mark. I'm atleast 6'1" and 80kgs+ and feel odd riding lighter bikes.
The NS weighs the same as my ol 200DTSi but feels lighter thanks to mass centralization.
N250R was abt 170kgs and never felt too bulky on the go. With the grunt the big Pulsar will have, it will still outperform the N250R, though it will be a super-interesting face-off with the N300!Bajaj Pulsar 150 : 2004-2005

re: Pulsar 350/375 Spy pics: xBhp News
seems correct to expect the 375 to be on the heavier side(>160kg)pulsars can never be light or nimble Per Se but are rock steady at any speed.
maybe ktm part sharing can replace bulkier components to reduce weight if its possible
One thing I always notice on my P220 when doing high speeds(wearing a helmet at all times though thru almost 0 traffic situations)is that it benefits from its awesome front:rear
weight distribution aiding its confidence inspiring handling. To an extent that even bigger cars have drafted behind,honest!P375 will surely take this stability marvel to another notch and also put an end to those so called quality woes!
